Remember reading about this on the scene. RIP sad to hear. Not sure if the referee could of done anymore except for stopping the fight sooner maybe.

Damn, the guy was 4-3 and they let him fight Chavez who is 16-0. Do they even have sanctioning in Mexico. ****ing shame.

That's where it happend at. The first time they fought chavez was 8-0 and Marco was 3-1. But what commision sanctions the fight when Chavez is 16-0 while Marcos is 4-3. you think that gets sanctioned in Vegas?

bro, i feel'ya...but it aint like that **** doesn't go on anywhere else....for example, look at guillermo rigondeaux...he's had 400+ amateur fights and he's fighting guys who had none, and only 8 pro fights....IMO that's even worse cause of the level of skill....guillermo has a grip of "fight" experience while these guys can barely throw a ****en correct punch....omar chavez's skill level aint no where near the level of these guys....it aint like omar is a 17-0 tyson type of prospect....

Not surprised, his father is doing a good job padding his record like he did for his self. Only problem is his son seems to be struggling and in need of trilogies against the nurses he used to feast on.

    RIP.

I hear ya but in the pros you count pro expeirence. A guy could be a gym legend beat pros in sparring the get in the ring and flop like Ola used to.

Point being this fight would not have been sanctioned in the states. Mexico is a boxing country and should have known better. Blame has to be placed in order to avoid this in the future. Who will be responsable for fighters saftey and health in mexico?

Poor kid brain hemorrhage, They said this morning that only 10% of his brain was functional really tragic Rest in Peace Marco.
And fans still complain and call fighter's quitter's if they take a knee or quit on their stool, I am guilty of this myself. :-(

bro, the states let evander fight way passed it....and just now have allowed valero in the mix...

i do blame the commisions, but dont act like the states has their hands clean when they dont.....omar chavez's 17-0 aint that dangerous or impressive when you see the facts...first of all, he aint that good..and 2nd of all, he's had a few gifts in there too....
