I feel that Cotto will be a tough, tough match up for MP.

MP will be most in danger in the first 2 rounds, and also probably in rounds 6-8.

The most dangerous punch that Cotto can land is a heavy counter hook once MP tries to stay punching inside the danger zone for too long.

 

the good thing about this fight is I would not be surprised if either man wins. They both have there advantages, but I will predict Cotto by Tko
inside 8. Its been a while since Pac has fought a boxer with Cottos skill
level, and has never fought one as strong as Cotto.

Although I'm still a bit a stickler for the 'screw catchweights' I can't deny it is an exciting match-up. As was said previously a few years ago it would have been unthinkable that Manny would be facing Cotto but here we are.

Based on the fact that I don't believe Manny is as good as he looked facing Hatton and Cotto isn't as bad as he looked against Clottey this should be a pretty even match-up.

Because lets be honest, Cotto would demolished Hatton if he fought the same way against him and Manny wouldn't be coming out of a match-up with Clottey smelling like roses either.

This fight is so hard for me to pick because I truly believe that both of these guy are capable of beating one another. I think it will comes down on who has the better game plan, if Manny uses his speed to dart in and out like he did against DLH then I can definitely see him come out victorious. However, if it turns into a slugging match then I'd favor Cotto's short hooks and accuracy to get the better of Manny.

Even with Manny's speed advantage I still don't have the confidence to favor him. Cotto has an underrated boxing skills...He has great countering ability along with timing to neutralize Manny's speed. If he can accomplish this then I see a TKO for Cotto.
