He fought a near prime Brian Magee, a very good fighter. Magee was fringe World class at the time of the Froch fight, he was robbed over in Germany fighting for the European title against Vitali Tsypko(a man who many were high on after he fought Lacy).

So there's your southpaw. He's fought a few other Southpaws, Tatevosyan being one. froch fought him in an eliminator for the IBF #2 spot and blasted him out in 2 rounds.

But Magee is the best example, he's Froch's best win after Pascal and Taylor.

Omar Pittman made more of a dent in Pascal than Froch did, now what does that tell you, Omar Pittman for ****s sake LOOOOL

Froch has slowed down though since then and he has never fought a southpaw who is a good switch hitter like Dirrell, Carl Froch is going to be totally confused in there because Dirrell will keep switching on him and he wont know what punch to throw and he will freeze and end up eating shots from all angles.

Damn, thats a good point you made, I even forgot about Dirrell's switch hitting style.

Froch will get totally bamboozled in there and he wont know what to throw or when to throw it and I can see Dirrell making Froch look completely stupid in there LOL. You made me even more confident of Dirrell taking this one.

Froch has fought a southpaw but nobody like Dirrell, Dirrell will be the fastest and most accurate puncher Froch has faced up until now.

Dirrell has seen Froch's style before but Froch has yet to meet anybody who would be able to just hit him at will.

If Froch chooses to keep those hands down by his waist he wont have time to pick them up to defend the shots coming towards him.

He will be getting pulverised if he chooses to fight like that.

I was just pointing out that you dont have to be of any calibre to hurt a fighter, Pittman caught Pascal moving back in a straight line and BOOOOM he detonated on him. Pascal was doing the shuffle for a few seconds or longer than that before he managed to hang on and get himself back together again, and this came after Pascal was beating Pittman up in there. Froch never really put a dent in Pascal so his power is a bit overated. I see Dirrell getting in and out before Froch even has time to find him and Froch can stalk him but the more he comes to find Dirrell is the more counters he will be eating for his trouble.

Froch gets hit too much period. He was eating right hand after right hand against Pascal and if Pascal was a legitimate big puncher Froch would of not made it out the fight.

  8. Dirrell hasn't even been in a 12 round fight yet....and Froch will keep coming forward and Forward for 12 rounds.....and like I said if he can handle it then he will deserve his win

but his record isn't very extensive.... he was still fighting "opponents" up until last year... and he hasn't even gone on to Fringe world class competition yet.... he really should have got a few old durable pro's in the ring first

I agree with you on that point and it is always good to get those career shaping fights but he is now being given a massive opportunity to showcase all his talents on the big stage and I believe that him not going the full 12 will obviously be something to take into account but I dont think that this kid is another Taylor. I believe that he will be good for at least 10 rounds and rounds 11 and 12 may be a bit harder but by then I dont really see Froch having much left either, it all depends on the pace of the fight because Froch will definitely get tired as well, Froch wasn't really working at a pace against Taylor and against Pascal he was working at a high pace and he did tire towards the end so at the end he did not have as much mustard behind his shots. It all depends on who controls the pace of the fight. Dirrell will be the sharp shooter in this fight and will fight from range.

Dirrell can certainly do it if he can outlast Froch...rounds 8 to 12 will be very very tumultuous for Dirrell fans. Froch will heat up and with his workrate and non-stop motor, we could see a big comeback KO win.

It'll be an interesting fight. Dirrell's bone china chin will shatter all over the arena unless he boxes perfectly.

Froch is going to surprise alot of people with his boxing ability. Taylor was an off night, and he still dug deep for a KO. He didnt box bad in the taylor fight either, i dont care what other people say, it was in no way a schooling up until the stoppage. I admit i had Froch 2 points down, and taylor landed classier shots, but Froch was methodical and relentless with his pressure, and that won a good 4 or 5 rounds of the fight in my opinion, boxing is about more than a few classy flurries a round.
