Interesting no talk of Pavlik VS Mundine :huh

Mundine can pay the big dollars to get Pavlik out here....he got Kessler and Sacia out here.

Mundine VS Green got 30,000 people through the gate and the fighters split $10,000,000.

Maybe its because Mundine thinks he wont win the fight....however I think Kessler at SMW is a harder fight for Mundine that Pavlik at MW.

Mundines quick and slick...not much power but has great evasion. :bbb

I think Pavlik would win but it would be interesting for a while.

I really doubt Showtime cares about the long term investments of the champ. I'm sure they're willing to deal with that so long as they reap the short term benefits from the tournament.

Showtime is pretty aware that if HBO wants any of their fighters, they can't do much about it.

 

Funny how HBO are seen as the best channel for boxing statedside but now it's seen as a non competative tv channel for top fighters.

 

If it's Kessler it will be Chad Dawson who gets the fight.

Man -- I've been trying to exlode this ****ing internet myth for ages! Pavlik has fought at, near, or above the SMW limit 14 times. His record at the weight is 13-1, 11 KO's. Taylor made the distance, and Ross Thompson made the 8 round distance YEARS AGO. Thompson won 1 round on 1 score card, and never fought again. Now, make me a list of all the other fighters who scored UD's over Jermain Taylor. Hopkins failed twice, and Winky couldn't do it either. Pavlik did it with ****ing injuries to both hands from the mid rounds on.

Just keepin' it real. I have been following KP obsessively since the McKart fight. I tuned in to Fight Night on OLN to see my boy Bronco beat up some skinny mid-western kid. What me and "Superman" did not know is that "The Ghost" has kryptonite in his gloves! Afterward, I started telling everybody who would listen, "This kid right here is the next middleweight champion of the world!"

 

Just heard jsimps interview Jack Loew. Try, "None of the above". Seriously. Said it should be announced in a few days. Says BIG. Also pushed up to late September. Bute in New York planned after that with Sturm next and then the winner of the SMW tourney to follow. Well, that is the current road map.

He did say the upcomng fight is no 'gimmie' record builder but the opponent was chosen by Kelly.

Also says at the level Kelly is figting, 2 fights a year are probably enough. He could do more if he wanted to fight lesser opponents, but that ain't the plan.

Repeated they thought AA was an easier fight for Kelly than Sturm. He still doesn't really know why that fight wasn't made.

Great news! Really, all Pavlik needs to do is start working his way through the handful of solid middleweight contenders and Bute, Williams and even Dawson will be banging on that door
