Mayweather Jr needs to stop ducking Williams

makes perfect sense. that's a great plan actually and one everyone would want. I seriously doubt mosley would/will "duck" williams. pw just needs to make it viable by fighting some solid opposition and grabbing a belt

 

Clottey is the ONLY WW who said he would fight Paul, sadly they stole his belt from him so a Clottey - Williams championship fight will no longer happen.

I just don't buy into the "ducking" BS when the guy who is crying has a clear path to a mandatory position.

 

Nopes . . . Williams' name is no longer appearing anywhere on the 147 listings (in all listings including the ring P4P LISTING). So nobody can say that not until Willaims establish his name on a particular weight class.

 

right on. you want to division hope, good on ya. but you can't claim that everyone in three divisions is ducking you if you don't stay anywhere long enough to rake up some wins and build a reputation

I do not think anyone at 147 is anxious face PW, but the route to a mandatory position is wide open. Same thing at 160. The route to a mandatory is clear and wide open. I would love to see Paul clear out 154 and make it Paul's house. That makes more sense than anything else. Goosen just wants to talk big, and make stupid offers to other promoters!

Williams wanted to fight Clottey before he won the 154 lb belt. He said they heard about Clottey calling him out -- so PW people called them and received no reply (according to Williams). I watched that Clottey/Judah fight and after the fight Clottey spoke very careful about who he wanted to fight next (never made it apparent that Williams was the fight he wanted). I don't think he really wants to fight Williams but he doesn't have anymore options. He would loose big anyway Williams KO inside 8!

 

i think he can get the forrest fight before he retires and then like you said, dominate it. from there welters will be moving up as they always do to challenge him. then, when he's lucrative he can challenge pavlik.

 

Clottey isn't getting KO'd by Paul, even though I believe Paul would win a UD. As for being a mandatory, that sounds good, but the only thing that would happen is either they would drop their belts or they would fight another champ, either way no one is going to fight him except low class mandatories once he picks up any belt again.
