personally i think its great match making by haye and his people..........cause we know valuev is slow as ****............holyfield beat him at 46.........so if haye knocks valuev out..........which i think he will.........it would raise a lot of doubts..........against klishkos .....i mean by the time haye actually fights vitali or wladimir........vitali would be 39 which is ancient for a heavyweight..........wlad will be 34......perhaps on the down slop of his career...........if haye has wba belt he can command more cash....and now king will get options on david haye.......... Also If haye beats valuev, haye has to fight wba mandatory challenger john ruiz and haye got to deal with chagaev who is still the other half of the wba title i believe.
Definitely a great move by Haye and his camp to avoid Vitali. Big brother Klitschko would've destroyed him IMO.
both wlad and vitali wanted to fight valuev...........haye stole him from them......quality move.........don king is with showtime.......he is a great talker and king can sell him.........
I think this is probably a smart move. But a lot of time has been wasted, Valuev could have been done and dusted already.

Yup of course both do cause if vitali or wlad beats valuev then wlad will be the undisputed heavyweight champion or if vitali wins he and his brother will have all title belts to the family in which after that none won't care if they get stripped of the title cause they already accomplish their goal. But like i said if haye beats valuev, haye must fight ruiz next since ruiz is the wba mandatory challenger. Also haye got to deal with chagaev who is still half of the wba title i believe. If haye gets stripped of his title, he won't have the leverage anyway vs either klitshckos.

I hope Haye KO's Valuev (simply winning is a foregone conclusion) just on principle. Then he can fight Holyfield in his first defense (and win in a really boring fight).
So signing a Don King fighter is a good move if he eventually wants to fight the Klitschkos???? Valuev is not regarded as a real champion and lost already to Chagaev who was dominated by Klitschko. Unless Haye wins in spectacular fashion, everybody will say "well, Valuev got lucky against Ruiz and Holyfield" Haye simply doesn't like to fight all that much. How many fights does he have again? How many times did he fight since announcing his move up to HW?
It makes a great deal of sense. I said that I didn't think Haye was ready for either Klitschko, that he had a lot of ring rust to shake off and that he simply hadn't fought the opponents that he needed to to prepare properly for them. Valuev has a belt, is a more winnable fight for Haye, and is great preperation (if he wins, no chicken counting yet) for fighting a much larger opponent. The Klitschkos leave Valuev in the dust when it comes to skill but it'll still be valuable for Haye. I'm surprised, but I think it works out better for Haye. And if he wins, for the whole heavyweight division.
