joe frustrates the jones fans to the max. for years they wanted jones to fight someone viable. when he was a kid he beat toney and hop, and then his head swelled beyond belief and noone was allowed in the ring with him unless he got his 60/40. the guy lost touch with reality, went up to heavyweight (can you say hgh?) by the time the dust settled in his brain he found himself in the ring at lightheavy against guys with the hunger jones never had (tarver and johnson) in time to get himself knocked cold.
thing about calzaghe that seams to erk fans of jones and bhop the most is the fact that joe had insignificant power. joe couldn't break a potatochip with his punch. however, joe was an anomaly when it came to angles and rhythm. angles and rhythm that's boxing. so who did you want to see joe fight? pavlik? froch? those guys are lucky they never got to fight joe. if he faught pavlik instead of hopkins, you'd still be frustrated today that joe never lost, using a slappy style to do it.

Yeah yours is a much better choice than trying to refute that pack of truths.:hi:

I watched every -EVERY- single round of his career. I think Joe is quite decent in the ring. I'm just not a nuthugger. Some should evaluate with their eyes not based upon country of origin, color of skin, religion, or other random BS. I've seen Joe struggle with far too many fighters to be blinded by his "0".

It's obvious you're not a fan, fair enough. BUT the Hopkins win against Pavlik puts Calzaghes win against Hopkins into perspective.

And if Kessler wins this tournament things get really interesting.

LOL. ART BELL!! Haven't listened to his show in a couple years. I would occasionally catch his show in the early AM (I'm in Vegas) driving home from the gym. Been keeping a diff schedule so I haven't caught it in a good while. He moved to the Philippines from Nevada (and then returned I think).

    ♠

I'm still listening but it really sounded more like a bad party than any Hell.

    But peace, man.:D

    Nah, I'm not Catholic <g>.

There's enough HELL on earth, man. We don't need to make up imaginary places or create stories for the things we can't explain.

    LMFAO!!! RICK ASTLEY!!!!:ldevil:party:kenny:kenny

    Pretty twisted, later man.

Kudos to Joe for beating Kessler. An excellent performance by JC.But Hopkins had lost not once, but twice to Jermaine Taylor a couple of years before Hopkins and Calzaghe fought. Now the Pavlik thing is interesting because: 1.Kelly was a middleweight champion fighting at a 170 pound catchweight against Hopkins.2.Is Hopkins' beating Kelly at 170 pounds really an impressive accomplishment?I ask because if it were then it can be said that Kelly was an excellent fighter.I don't think so.I believe Kelly is a good, not great middleweight who is tall has good power and alot of heart, but is one-dimentional and predictable.I give Joe props for beating an excellent fighter in Kessler, but not for beating 43 year old and previous 2 time loser to Jermaine Taylor(at middleweight) in Hopkins who,by the way, hasn't fought since he beat Pavlik.
