Agreed, Don King could cause problems. But sooner or later the Haye-Wlad fight will take place as public pressure for the fight will be too big. It could take a few years though and with his glas chin Haye could not be at the top anymore.

Nobody is to blame. The Klitschkos have done nothing wrong by offering Haye a **** contract because Haye hasn't earnt a fight against them so they have every right to dictate terms. Haye has made a sensible move by going after the other belt to give himself in a bargaining chip in future negotiations with the Klitschkos.

If you read the below Haye actually says he has signed this fight because Vitali wanted him to sign his life away and this title will put future negotiations on a level playing field... nobody is pussying out it is just good business... some of you lot are ****ing clueless to the business side of the game and just hate on Haye or the Klitschkos and blame either because you don't like them when the fact is this is a good move for both camps really. Haye fighting Valuev gives him more exposure and a title if he wins which will make a future Klitschko fight more money for the Klitschkos as Haye will be better known and it will be for another title and Haye has a bargaining chip in negotiations rather than signing his life away.

Read below if you want Hayes side of the story:

I really don't see what the problem is here.

Haye had been offered shite contracts to fight Wlad but in the end agreed on one.
Haye then had to pull out because of a back injury. The Klitschkos themselves are no strangers this and have done the same on more than a few occassions.

No one's to blame here so far.

Talks of a fight between Haye and Vitali arise although there seems to be very little in the way of official confirmation of this. Again the **** contracts come out (if indeed this whole thing even happened) and Don King walks in with a better offer.
A much easier fight that is for a piece of the heavyweight title also and could give Haye better bargaining power with the Klitschkos if he wins.

Why would K2 offer a rubbish contract? Maybe because neither brother has ever beaten a really dangerous fighter and Haye looks like he could be their toughest challege since Lennox Lewis. They would want some sort of control wouldnt they?

Why should Haye kick up such a fuss about crap contracts?
He may still be new to the heavyweight division but lets not forget he was the undisputed cruiserweight champion? That holds more weight than most would give credit for in the heavies. Holyfield has proven that.

A lot of people on ESB seem to let common sense, business and the facts slide quite easily just because they don't like the fact Haye has a lot to say. And lets not be silly, Haye's not dumb. It's promotion only.

Good post. I'd like to have seen it because of all the hype Haye-Klityschko has received. But if Haye is good enough then he will beat Valuev and the fight will still be on the cards in the future.

    Exactly.

Smart career move maybe...but a gutless one as well.

Such as using vodoo to injure his back?

Wlad would have fought Haye if Haye hadn't pulles out with an "injury". Wlad didn't need to fight Haye if he didn't want to.

Why is it gutless? If he wants to fight Vitali now he will have to sign another RIDICULOUS contract.. which is fair because Haye hasn't earnt his shot. Instead of fighting an eliminator to make his negiotiations fairer with the Klits he has gone after one piece of his unification puzzle to earn a fairer split in negotiations... why do you Haye haters find such basic logic so ****ing hard to understand?

No but what Wlad did do was make Haye sign a contract where the only bit of money Haye was getting was from Setanta... which subsequently went bust. Maybe if Wlad wasn't so greedy and gave Haye a small percentage of the gate money, or HBO money, or German TV money then Haye would have had an income and you never know the fight could have happened :hey
