In your dreams. Haye will "defend" "his" title against the exact opposition. Ruiz if you are GLAD, otherwise Rahman, Toney, Oquendo, Riddick Bowe, Mike Tyson, and of course, Frank Bruno. Yes. What kind of achievement is this exactly ? Don't expect Haye fighting Vitali EVER, he will sit out until that one retires, THEN trashtalk him for "running from him". Vitali will send a couple of russian friends to have a serious talking with Haye so he shuts the **** up on him finally. If so, that would be cool. But, it will never happen. Haye can make as much money with 5 cheesy bull**** defenses as he could with one unification he loses. For him personally, yes of course. Otherwise his "title run" and career would have ended come his fight with Vitali. This only helps the british bull**** spinners from hell so they can rave on, when not beating up random strangers at their bar when they're not looking.
It was a smart move by Haye, but it makes you wonder if he really wants to fight the Klitschko brothers or was he just trying to get more money against Valuev. It was a smart move because Valuev isnt that good of a champion, after Valuev he'll have an easy mandatory which is John Ruiz that will easily be beaten, and after Ruiz he can fight anyone he wants to fight, but I feel he wasted his time promoting the fight with Wlad and pulling out because it had to be the most lucrative heavyweight match that could have happened in about 7 years. Maybe this draws more interest in a future fight with Wlad only if Wlad decides to sign a contract to fight him again only time will tell
1. I am pretty sure that when Haye beats him from pillar to post, it's hard to lose; even in Germany. To suggest that it's impsossible shows how idiotic your statment is. 2. After he defeats those guys, he'll be able to Unify. 3. Yes they are, too much money to be made and he'll have a belt. 4. Who cares?
It's not about proving anything. Haye now will have a belt and can unify with either Klitschko. You know that both those fighters would want another belt. Plus there is more money too be made for both sides.
Put yourself in Haye's shoes. Now, would want to fight the best Heavyweights in the world after a year of inactivity. Think of it as tune-up, a very smart tune-up. He will fight the Klitschkos no doubt about it.
After he beats Ruiz he can Unify, who's stop him if he makes his Mando defenses? You don't have to make one after the other, there are certain deadlines and he can fight in between those deadlines and unify. He'll be ready to fight the Klitschkos instead of jumping in to fight them after a year layoff. So what? What if he fights Wlad? What will you say then? Vitali holds one belt, Wlad holds the RING belt. If he loses in his unification, he'll get a rematch. He would have been a Champion before the Unification and would work a rematch clause. Maybe not, but Haye is smart enough to do that. That's your opinion. Haye would have won a UD against Vitali. Haye is too fast and Vitali is not the same fighter he once was. I am American, but I am pretty sure you're hating on an entire Nation. Which isn't going to sit well with a lot of people on this board. Moron.
Why wouldn't we? Don king controls Valuev and Ruiz, NOT Haye. What would Don King have to do with David Haye? It's not Don King can control the WBA if Haye beats Ruiz and Valuev.
Haye easily made the right move. He's got control of his career, a decent payday set up and he can always revisit a Klitschko unification fight if need be. Most importantly he pretty much got more press in America by bitching about The Klitschkos than he would've gotten by "earning" his way to the top. People need to understand the difference between the honorable move and the correct career move.
It is only what he says, not what he wants. I was hyped in the pre fight phase Wlad-Haye and was quite disappointed when the fight was canceled. Then there was Vitali-Haye and again no fight but only talk. Talking is all that Davis Haye did since entering the new weightclass. This gets boring had took far to much time from the prime of the No. 1 of the division and time from the last 1-2 fighting years of the No. 2.
You don't know Don King if you think he won't control Haye. Unless he can get an option on the Klits (and I doubt he will) there will never be a unification fight. Ever. Haye's move might be good for Haye, but I can't see how boxing benefits from this.
