Exactly, Freddie Roach seems to genuinely beleive that Khan can be moulded into his next star.

Roach has already said that they will work on Khan dealing with pressure in the post fight conference

When Khan turned pro he began adopting a pro style of inside fighting, sitting down on his shots etc Under Roach he has abandoned that and gone back to his amateur style of let the shots go and step off.

Given his chin this may be what he needs to do. If this is the style he adopts then I don't mind BUT I want to see him greatly improve his balance and I want to see him let his hands go with quality punches not pitty patter ****.

Think a lot of people are getting the Diaz's mixed up here. David diaz might be ok but Juan Diaz is Khan's biigest nightmare!

    Yeah, that must be it.

Can't think why anyone would think Juan Diaz is a good match-up for Khan.

    David Diaz is another story.

Juan Manual Marquez, Khan is not !

Juan Diaz would have him in fits in 2 rounds.

David Diaz is also a come forward fighter but without the skill set of Juan and without the suberb conditioning too. Khan could probably pick off a points win there.

Plus David Diaz is slow as ****.

Khan could just stay on the backfoot all night without breaking as much sweat as he did against Kotelnik.

I wonder if anyone has ever considered doing a Hopkins on Khan - as we saw in the Calzaghe fight..... basically fighting on the retreat and drawing him onto you.

Khan gets really sloppy when throwing loads of shots, especially coming forward - vulnerable to straight right and left hook counters.

There are so many ways to beat Khan IMO his reign as an alphabet champion isn't going to last too long.

Wow - i never knew that. Just watching the Graham Earl video showed me the kid has power - Earl literally looked as though he didn't know what had hit him.

This was at 135. At 140, Khan's surely to have more power, particularly as he develops further. This was only his 2nd (?) fight at this weight.

I can see Khan improving... he seemed to just be playing it safe in the Kotelnik fight to ensure a points win, not going for the big shots just flurrying, it won't be this easy for him all the time.

Probably not decent ones; rubbish ones yes. Put him in with a Juan Diaz and I think he struggles because he doesn't discourage a guy with pitter pats going backwards.

Have you seen Earl's last few fights?

His punch resistance is shot, and has been since Katsidis put some serious hits on him.

Hi TFFP, I haven't seen Earl's last few fights, but can accept that his punch resistance has gone. You make a good point :good I probably should have picked a better example, although I'm struggling to do so because most of Khan's stoppages have been flurry-related.

That said, I'm a little bit of a believer in Khan. I think he's got power, he just needs to learn to put a little more weight into some of his punches. Will be interesting to see how he develops over the next few fights.

The way i see it, most pressure fighters will not have the same defence or guard as Kotelnik, and they will be more hittable. When Khan see's and feels this he wiil put more into his shot naturally, with Kotelnik he knew there is no point. Also there is no point trying to KO someone who has never even been KD before, Khan also had to pace himself for the 12 because he only done 12 once and that was a long time ago.

Khan fought a very smart fight, that's why i refer to Roach as Dr.Roach, he is a master of this sport, and was the man behind this game plan.
