Cotto weighed in@146 v Clottey - would TWO lbs less make him a walking corpse?

Not saying it will happen or it won't happen, but IF IF IF somehow Pac knocks out Cotto easily and decisively, Coach Roach and Team Pac will be kicking themselves for making this fight at 145. For the rest of their lives, they'll be left to wonder, "what if" and "if only".

pac met delahoya at 147. pac comes from 135 while oscar comes from 150 (151 actually) in his fight with forbes.

pac and cotto will meet at 145 because pac comes from 140 (138 actually) int the hatton fight while cotto comes from 147 (146 actually) in the clottey fight.

 

it doesn't matter where they come from, you tell me why it was ok for him to meet oscar at 147 and not cotto, a much smaller man

 

if 1 pound is a lot, how about the 9 pounds that jmm is suppose to go up when he fights floyd?

it does matter because that was the reference of their previous fights. pac-oscar was a fight between two different sized fighters so a catchweight was necessary. and so was cotto-pac so a catchweight is also necessary. oscar is bigger than cotto so a fight at 147 seemed reasonable. if pac will fight cotto at 147, then team pac are acknowledging that it doesn't matter to them that cotto is bigger. but of course they know the real score and are trying to make the size difference as little as possible by asking cotto to also have a weight concession.

besides, as a cotto fan, how much credit would you give cotto for beating a jr welter in pac? by making this at catchweight, cotto would get as much credit because the size difference between them will not be as huge if the fight happened at 147.

i would give either all the credit in the world if the fight was at 147, but since now it's at a lower weight, pac kind of takes the black eye here....listen, when you move up in weight you test yourself a bit...pac manned up and didnt take a test, he took right on delahoya and humiliated him....that was his welcome to 147 party, now with a much smaller man he wants him to be dehydrated so that he can hold the advantages...if cotto is too big for pac at 147, then take yo ass back down to 135-140 and finish what you started (jmm)

besides, i thought 2 pounds didnt mean nothing....
