Brock Lesnar: "I Don't Like Gays"

Yes, but I am not a christian and therefore not a hypocrite like you. It is one thing to acknowledge that you are a sinner, and that you WILL sin and that there is nothing you can do about it because the bible is absolutely impossible to follow to the letter for any human being. It is another thing altogether to see scripture in front of you, recognize that you are disobeying it, and write it off as okay because "everyone sins". It is true that everyone sins, but not everyone calls themselves a christian and KNOWINGLY sins without attempting to stop.

Maybe if you do some soul searching, you will realize that the only way you can be a good christian is if you take a good faith effort to follow the teachings of christ, instead of following the stuff you like and ignoring the stuff you don't and saying it is okay because "everyone sins".

 

I was right about the old testament putting stupid archaic restrictions on your diet. I was right about the sabbath. And I was right about the wife and kids thing. Check out deuteronomy 13: 6-10.

I was a conservative evangelical for 15 years so I know my bible. Later, when I learned to reason, I realized it was a bunch of ancient hearsay BS, but I know it pretty well.

I do not like gays either. Why should I like perverts? What is so likable about them?

Why should he not express his opinion? Its ok for some gay people to overly flaunt their sexual preference in front of the world, but he cant express his dislike?

 

I am sure if he said "I don't like blacks" "I don't like jews" "I don't like women" "I don't like Englishmen" etc. it wouldn't be an issue.

He is obviously prejudiced against gays, a minority. It is abhorrent. It's not just that he shouldn't EXPRESS that opinion, but he shouldn't HAVE that opinion because it is bigoted. He should be a little more grown up, and realize that he lives in a very very big world with many different types of people.

Being a bigot is not something that anyone SHOULD be, though he has the right to.

 

That's like someone saying "I don't like blacks" because SOME black people play rap music too loud.

That's like someone saying "I don't like jews" because SOME Jewish people are rich bankers.

That's like someone saying "I don't like mexicans." because SOME mexicans don't speak english well.

That's like someone saying "I don't like women" because SOME women are abrasive or annoying.

Judging an entire group because of a stereotype, or because of the actions of SOME in that group, is bigotry.

 

It may be bigotry, but its his right not to like a group of people for what they represent, he doesnt like gay people because of thier need to indulge in people of the same sex.

Saying he shouldnt be allowed to express that opinion out loud is as prejudice as his opinion towards gay people.

Like I said before I personally have nothing against gay people, gay people wether its right or wrong have a right to be gay, same as Lesnar wether its right or wrong has a right to dislike it. More and more gay people are being more open about thier sexual preference, so why cant people who dont like it have the same freedom of expression?

 

You are PRETENDING that I am arguing against his right to have free speech, when in fact I am just stating that his opinions are immoral and wrong, and I am stating WHY his opinions are immoral and wrong.

He also has the right to say any of the things I posted above regarding other minority groups. He also has the right to deny genocides. He also has the right to say he hates gay people and hopes they burn in hell forever (though, he didn't say THAT.)

I am saying what he said was immoral and bigoted and a WRONG thing to say, and that he shouldnt have said it, and that he shouldnt think it, not that some sort of super police should arrest him for it, or that he should be kicked out of the UFC for it.

And no, judging one person based on their actions is not "as prejudiced as his opinion towards gay people." Prejudice is PRE-judging someone, usually because of a race, gender, class, or social status, without knowing what they are about. Once he opens his mouth and spouts bigotry, it is just judging, not prejudicial in any way.

If I said he was a bigot because he is from South Dakota, THAT would be prejudiced. If I said he was a bigot because he is a wrestler, THAT would be prejudiced. If I said he was a bigot because he is a white person, THAT would be prejudiced. Saying he is a bigot because he all but DECLARES he is a bigot is in no way prejudiced.

It is perfectly normal not to like a group of people. It is illegal to do anything about that, but it is perfectly fine to think and to say.
