Khan-Kotelnik apparently only did 30,000 buys!!!

According to Bernd Boente (the Klit's manager), Haye backed out of a Vitali fight because Khan-Kotelnik only did 30,000 buys and the only money Haye would have got would have been from the Sky Box Office sales.

Now that is a pretty **** figure for Khan and Haye did the right thing in pulling out of the Vitali fight as his purse would have been dependant on PPV sales so he could have ended up with **** all.

He said Hatton vs Pac done **** as well. Anyone know the numbers for that?

 

I think Hatton vs Pac was about 325,000 buys (I read that in the general).

30,000 is terrible, even worse than the Prescott fight!

really? i thought it would have done ok. nowhere near mayweather numbers but ok considering people were willing to pay for the previous malignaggi and whats-his-face fights

 

Didn't Warren say for the Prescott fight that he need something like 250k buys to get a profit?

 

It was more in the States, closer to a million so it must be the UK figures.

 

Yeah all Hatton PPV usually do well.

khans best PPV figures were vs Barrera and worst were against prescott

not surprised at those khan vs kotelnik numbers, there was no buzz at all and sky's marketing is **** poor

the tragedy of it all is imagine if khan vs kotelnik was on terestrial, the figures it would've got plus all the publicity for khan and the sport

fighters are making more money, but PPV is killing the sport as new fans are not being added, these promoters don't care for the future of the sport but pretty soon there'll be no one to buy PPVs

put all the big tennis, cricket etc matches on ppv and see the effect on those sports

 

Buncey's already got the show started. He goes it starts at 9pm but he's already talking about boxing.

For Khans career he needs to get off PPV 30k sales and expose himself to greater advertising and other sales revenue. Clearly the money behind him are typical bottom line blind accountants, not capable of seeing the bigger picture. He makes himself irrelevant to the UK public fighting to a small number of sky customers stupid enough to pay whatever to watch him, rather than 10- 12 million on prime time on itv for less money up front in the short run. But in the long run his exposure is massive, as is his sponsorship and endorsements, and not just from his own Pakistani business contacts with small pickings, but from MNC's.

Oh dear...

He will be dropping Warren soon though.
