These 2 fighters I feel will gain momentum as we move further into this tournament because they can only gain more experience win or lose from fighting the other top level fighters.

In my opinion I would not be surprised if they both came out victorious in their opening bouts despite their inexperience at the so called top level.

I feel that this will be like a changing of the guard, out with the old and in with the new.

Froch will age in this tournament and probably end up slowing towards the end because that is tough fights back to back which will take its toll.

I see Taylor being Taylor and I dont think he will ever fix those problems he seems to have from rounds 8 onwards.

Kessler is a question mark because apart from Calzaghe and Andrade who else has he fought who actually tested him to his limits so the style match ups presented in this tournament will be interesting.

Abraham, I dont know about Abraham fighting at 168lbs and how he will look but I see Abraham being stopped by somebody in this tournament despite him being such a tough ******* I see somebody stopping him for the 1st time in his career.

    May the best man win.

On the one hand I think Ward and Dirrell are both in over there heads, especially Dirrell. On the other hand I won't be all that surprised if they prove me wrong. At some point young guys have to step up. Some fail, some succeed and go on to great things.

I actually think Ward may win it all. The man is a very complete fighter. This tourney might end up being his coming out party. The kid is so underrated its scary...not for long tho.

I think Ward is going to get monstered by Kessler within 6 rounds. And he will have to quit the tournament.

LIke I said before, this tourny is going to end with Dirrell and Ward facing each other. These two are the class of the division and they are going to come into their own.

Lets see. Kessler has every punch in the book and a terrific uppercut. This is his money punch. Ward will try and clinch every time. While Kessler isn't the strongest on the inside, his uppercut will land time and time again. Before Ward starts to try his luck on the outside. Where he plays into Kesslers game. And the big guy lands a smack down and begins his way to cleaning out and unifying the division.

    They wouldn't surprise me.

Showtime has picked these matchups very carefully. For a reason.

Personally I see Ward attacking Kessler's weak body, which was exposed by Calzaghe's slaps. Ward is going to confuse Kessler with his lateral movement, speed, and angles, similar to what Joe Slappy did.

But thats just wishful thinking though dude, how can you guarantee that Ward will be there to be hit. Ward is very effective at what he does and Kessler will have to find him.

Its easy to assume that Ward will get landed with uppercuts but Kessler would still have to set up those shots so your assuming rather than breaking down exactly how he will be able to land this punch on ward all night. Miranda has a big right hand but he hardly even touched Ward when they fought when alot of people picked Miranda to catch ward so one wise person once told me, assumptions is the mother to all **** ups

I've been pretty ignorant on both guys but I've been watching Ward lately and he's impressed me. His pure boxing skills give him a stylistic edge in this type of round-robin tournament.

Obviously, he stepping up from such a limited boxer in Miranda but he's the darkhorse with his overall package imo.

Thanks for that analysis man much appreciated, I agree with those points you raised.

I think Kessler is very highly rated by ESB members but I think Ward is being completely overlooked here. I see Ward actually doing things in there that none of us envisioned him being able to do against Kessler, like showing him loads of angles, constant movement. Frustrating Kessler etc. It is an interesting opening fight.

Adding pace and high tempo for a full 12 rounds to Calzaghes lateral movement, speed, and angles. And doing all that maintaining your balance isnt'n easy...You'll have to be very talented...It's going to be interesting to see, if Ward can take it to Calzaghes level - which is requried if he's planning to win this bout.:bbb
