That was a very close fight where Miranda was deducted alot of points. There was also controversy over the fight supposed to be stopped earlier in Mirandas favor.

Abraham just needs a career defining fight and this SMW tourney could possibly hold it.

It was a close fight but it at least it was a step and it showed that he has the talent and heart to fight with the best in the world and he came back and fought him again after Miranda gave him a broken jaw in America and took him out easily. Miranda wasn't the same fighter but its shows heart to come back to fight him. AA has something to prove in this tourney and he's hungry for a big fight since Pavlik wouldn't fight him. I think AA is more tested than fighters like Dirrell and Ward.

You need to get off the Pavlik wouldn't fight him crap. Sauerland NEVER had any intentions of letting Pavlik near Abraham. All they did is talk ****. They used Pavlik's name to keep arthur in the news. You sure as **** couldn't get attention with Elcock, simon, and Oral! If Sauerland EVER negotiated seriously, show me the numbers! Show me something besides talk. You can't, because it does not exist. Germany is abraham's largest and most lucrative market. Show me what Sauerland offered Pavlik to come to Germany. What purse split did they ask for? Show me one god damn shred of evidence.

I bet you AA brings more money and more fans in Germany than Pavlik does anywhere here in the US. AA was ready to fight in the fall but Pavlik choose to fight Mora and even Arum said they don't want to fight AA right now they rather wait to next year. Arum knew AA was struggling to make 160 and they wanted to get him when he was real weak trying to make 160. Lets see if they fight at 168 but even Arum admitted that they didn't want to fight him this year and how do you really know that Sutherland negotiated seriously? Where you there lol? AA is ready for bigger and better fights and they couldn't get the Pavlik fight AA is right to move on. AA can't force Pavlik to fight him if Pavlik doesn't want to fight.

I don't know he is still a question mark to me. Very low workrate and a fondness to lie on the ropes and turtleshell. If Jermain continually uses his jab and beats him to the punch I can really see Abe never getting started in the fight. Even in the rematch with Miranda he was losing until the impressive ko. the thing is we know Abe has power but we also know he doesn't fight 3 minutes. Jermains had problems with big physically strong guys who work the whole time they're out there. Two tatally different styles. It's not that Abe can't win. It's that he's gonna have to do more than he's done in any of his previous fights.

I would agree with you if Taylor fought rounds 6-12 like he fights rounds 1-4. This is a tough fight but we all knows that Taylor gets tired in the middle to the end of fights so there no reason AA would step up the pressure by the 5th round. This is a tough fight but when JT gets tired he makes many mistakes and if he gets that tired I think AA is most likely going to take him out in the 6th or 7th round. Either way this is going to be a good fight.

Thats the thing we're always hoping to see a Jermain who can fight for 12. And I'm guilty of it now. because he has the talent to be really good. But the thing with Abe is that he doesn't really make guys fight hard and gives Jermain a better chance of not being gassed later on. He just needs to be cautious during those times when Abe steps it up. And if Jermain continually beats him to the punch can he get off. But yea either way it should be a great fight.

AA has a big fan base in Germany, and it is a lucrative market. How much did Sauerland offer Pavlik to fight in Germany?

Pavlik chose to fight Mora? Sorry, but Pavlik came very close to parting ways with Top Rank over a proposed Mora fight.

AA is ready for bigger and better fights? His next opponent lost 3 of his last 4 fights, including two losses to KP. If all goes as planned, Arthur's second opponent will be Dirrell, a man whose best win is Victor Oganov. Zuniga knocked Oganov out, so that says a lot about where Dirrell sits. Arthur's 3rd opponent is supposed to be Froch; a man who is so easy to hit, he gets mad if you miss him!

When Sturm denied Sauerland had made him an offer, Sauerland posted a signed fax on the internet alomst immediately. When it comes to Pavlik he has not produced a single shred of evidence that any offer was ever made, let alone a realistic offer. Why not? I've issued the challenge a hundred times on this forum, and not one person has ever produced any numbers, or any evidence of any kind, because Sauerland NEVER made any kind of reasonable offer to Team Pavlik. If they did, show me the numbers.

I like Jermain Taylor but i been burn with him more than once. He has all the talent in the world but It doesn't matter has much talent or what great shape he's in something always happens to him mentally when he gets tired. JT doesn't fight smart and he makes really huge mistakes when he gets tired around the 6th round. With a fighter like Abraham that is big trouble. I love JT talent but when you get to this level is more than about talent because everyone has talent in this level. It's about the heart and the will to be great and sadly for Taylor in his last 4-5 fights he hasn't showed when push comes to shove that he has the will to finish a fight.

The key phrase is in bold. 24 rounds with Hopkins, 12 rounds with Winky Wright, 19 rounds with Kelly Pavlik. Arthur does not even know where that playground is, let alone how to play there.

To be honest you never really know the truth. The only thing I know is that AA called Pavlik out for this fall because they were both free and either Pavlik or his team decided to go in another direction and fight Mora. It's impossible to ever know if Sutherland or Bob arum are telling the truth because they're both going to lie and say whatever to make there fighters look good in public. AA joined this tournament to take a big risk he didn't have to make to become The best Super Middle weight in the world and to become a biggest star in the division. There is all great fighters in this tournament and I'm glad AA is taking a risk and joined this tournament. AA didn't need to wait for Pavlik or his team to decided to fight him. He is on to the next challange and who knows maybe they fight at 168.

And what happen in those fights. I'll feel that he lost both fights to Hopkins and lost to Wright and which he faded at the end. He lost to Kelly twice and which he faded again after the 6th round. Your right though AA hasn't face this level of opponent yet but when he has step up(the first Miranda before he was washed up) he won the fight. He had a broken jaw and he never looked like he was hurt or dazed in that fight and then he comes back to America to fight the same man who broke his jaw and takes him out in 4. I feel that AA deserves the chance to fight a big fighter and since he can't Pavlik fight why not enter this tournament.
