I disagree. PBF hasn't hit been as much as Toney or Hopkins has. I would challenge you to look at opponent's connect % as a reference. PBF is more complete than Hopkins and Toney mainly because he had much better lateral movement and better reflexes than both and can still stand in front of you and make you miss.

Locche, Whittaker and Pep are the obvious ones that jump out. But even in this generation, I'd argue that Toney, Winky, Calderon and Guzman are better. At this point, Wladimir Klitschko needs to be in the mix as well. His defensive style is very different than the norm (which is basically just to keep the other fighter at bay with the threat of a jab), but he almost never gets hit cleanly anymore. Since the Peter fight, he's been nailed cleanly, what, 5 times? And most of those were when Calvin Brock came in swinging wildly.

no I like Pernell Whitaker and Willie Pep they both have to go down as two of the greatest defensive fighters of all time because they both barely got hit and didnt run around the ring to evade shots both of them could win rounds without throwing a single punch and I think Pep actually did that

Both Toney & B-Hop have been caught with more punches than Mayweather for sure, ****, Toney got caught with more in the Jones fight alone than FMJ did his whole career.

Pep is the best defensive boxer of all time probably, ahead of Benitez, Whitaker, Floyd etc.

Ps. Ive not seen a lot of Loche (spell check)

And Mayweather, frankly, has never fought anyone who was close to as good as Jones in his career. Other than Castillo and Judah, how many guys has Mayweather faced who even had what you might call plus handspeed?

Check him out on Youtube. Didn't look like much, but he was so slippery that it was absurd. The other guy would throw a punch, you think it's going to hit him, and by the time the punch gets there, he's about a millimeter away from the glove. When he fought, it almost looked like there was a magnetic field of the opposite polarity around the other fighter's gloves, and he just slipped away as the punch arrived.

    No.

Whitaker and others avoided punches completely with upper body movements. Floyd has had to soak up a lot in his shell, which is fine, but dodging punches altogether is preferable.

    Locche, Pep, Sweet Pea.

As for Toney, obviously he has incredible defensive skills, but he does get hit. Watch Toney v. Jirov.

Other than Jones what fighter did Toney fight that had such blazing handspeed? I'm not knocking Tooney he truely was a great defensive fighter but he got hit a lot more than PBF who has not been hit cleany that often. In all of his fights you can count how many clean shots he's taken and it's not much.

Case in point. Movement isn't defense according to the floyd boys.

Are you honestly gonna sit here and try and say Manny is a better defensive fighter than PBF??:rofl:lol::rofl:lol: When the two meet it will be come apparent which is better. While Manny struggles to hit PBF clean PBF will find him with counters and lead right hands all night. Manny comes in wild and off balance it's horrible flaw that will be exposed by an elite counter-puncher like PBF.:deal PBF is a much better defensive fighter than Pac it's not even up for debate.:deal
