Where did I say Mayweather had been hit more than Toney?? Give me a bell if you find that comment anywhere. I'll just chalk it up to your usual desperation to defend the Pretty Boy.

IMO, Mayweather was hit more and more cleanly through his peak than Hopkins was for sure. There is a bit of a myth about Floyd that he never got hit - when you go through all of his fights, he actually got caught cleanly more than a few times. I haven't stored all of these in my head, but they wouldn't be too hard to find if you dispute this. I genuinely cannot remember these instances from B-Hop's career, until he became older, less mobile, and more reserved/passive in his style.

Both Hopkins and Toney had greater defensive skill than Floyd. For me, that is beyond dispute. As I've already said, Hopkins was harder to hit for definite IMO.

As for Toney, well of course he got hit a lot by Jones - who the **** wouldn't?! Mayweather never fought anyone in the same stratosphere as the smw Jones. If you look at Toney's whole career, you would realize he was one of the greatest defensive specialists in history. He does not have the speed, footwork or movement to escape attacks - not that he tries to anyway. The guy stands in the pocket or invites people onto the ropes, often far bigger guys, and manages to hit and not be hit. Pure defensive skills as opposed to athleticism.

All three are below Whitaker though. He had the whole package - awesome defensive skill and the athleticism to match.

Dont try to twist things around as usual ,you're the one that said Mayweather was a better defensive fighter than the guys ive mention cause they were dropped more times than him as if that was the deciding factor when talking about defenses.

While PBF never fought anyone as good as a prime Jones he was never dominated like Toney was either and really don't see him being dominated like that by any fighter even if he faced a prime Pea. He's simply too good defensively, counters well, adjusts well and too much of a ring general to alllow it to happen. Everyone who knew boxing going into that Jones-Toney fight knew Toney couldn't handle movement and he was thoroughly exposed as expected. Jones even said he planned to bring his track shoes in pre-fight interviews and there was nothing Toney could do to stop it.:deal Toney was a notch below PBF on defense and if you hear him talk today it proves it.

I've seen countless exmaples of PBF being on the ropes and not getting hit cleanly rolling with punches or blocking them and countering effectively. He's perhaps one of the best in the sport at doing this. If that's not great defense I don't know what is. He was a much more versatile defender than Hopkins or Toney his use of the shoulder roll, lateral movement and fighting off the ropes tells you everything you need.

Getting dropped is part of the equation and has to be factored in when talking about defense.:deal Guys like Naz had great chins but were often off balanced when they got dropped so was Pea who was also out of postion from all the dipping and weaving he was doing.

Locche, Pep, Whitaker, Benitez, and Zapata among others.....it could be argued that they're better defensively than Floyd.

Those guys took much more risks than Floyd has and they did it against dangerous opposition and they got dropped a couple of times, they didnt took caution to the limit against overmatched opponents like Floyd has done. They still have a better defense than Floyd .

Im not a huge fan of Floyd because of his obsession with money and his "0" which ruins great possible matchups and the way he picks his opponents. But his defence is awesome. It's just so controlled. But he still a f4git for not fighting fighters that us boxing fans want to see :)

he defend him self for not fighting cotto, mosley and margarito by retiring and coming back fighting a smaller guy. Can you now imagine how defensive he is. lol
