I trust you are aware that Sauerland is the brains behind this tournament, aren't you? Ken Herschman of Showtime Sports said he started working on it in May. That means Sauerland must have pitched the idea in April, or earlier. Herschman also said they signed the european fighters first.

Arthur fought #43 ranked LuJaun Simon in March, and talked smack about Pavlik. He fought #29 ranked Mahir Oral in June, and the very next day Sauerland talked **** about Pavlik. A week later Arthur's in the tourney.

Do you really believe they put this tournament together and secured Arthur's place in it overnight? Pretend you're Kalle Sauerland, and you're trying to promote Abraham. How are you going to draw attention to him? By talking about beating such greats as Elvin Ayala and Sebastian Demers? Or, maybe there is a better way. You can just talk a ton of **** about wanting a Pavlik fight while planning something completely different behind the scenes. The myth of Arthur Abraham is built on a lie, but most boxing fans are so gullible they don't even question it.

He didn't look to fight Lujaun Simon or Mahir Oral. All the fighters you name where all mandatory fights to keep his belt. Blame the IBF for those fights not AA. Do you really think AA would just give up his belt for a tournament that no one believed would be made till 3 days before they officially announced it? Either way they couldn't make a fight with Pavlik and AA has been trying because he was struggling to make weight and wanted that Pavlik fight before he had to move up. I give you an example look how many bums Joe C. had to fight before getting a real fight. It wasn't Joe C. fault it was all the mandatory fights he had to fight to keep his belt.

Simon and Ayala were voluntary defenses. They CHOSE Ayala over Zuniga, and Simon over Winky Wright. These guys have a long history of seeking the easier, softer way. Oral was also a voluntary. Lorenzo was the mandatory, but he mysteriously disappeared over "financial issues." The fact that he dissapeared of course had nothing to do with the fact that AA was planning to vacate, and Lorenzo would get a shot at the vacant title, now did it? Once again, the easier, softer way: they chose Oral over Lorenzo.

You still haven't provided me with ANY evidence that Abraham/Sauerland actually made a legitimate offer to Team Pavlik. Calling out means **** all. AA called out Delahoya! Is Oscar ducking Arthur? Lorenzo called out Abraham and Pavlik both. Are they ducking him? Karmazin called Arthur out. Is Arthur ducking Roman? Mora has talked a ton of **** about KP for nearly 2 years. Is Kelly ducking The Latin Fake? Calling out means **** all.

You should double check the fact that Ayala or Simon weren't his Mandatory fights. Didn't Lorenzo lose to Saul Martinez on showtime in a fight that made Martinez the mandatory? How do you really know 100% that AA or Sauerland didn't make an offer to Pavlik? I know that after AA last fight he called out pavlik saying that there both free in the fall but Pavlik or his team decided to fight Mora and told AA we don't want to fight now lets wait to the beginning of next year. AA is struggling to make wait and he made the right choice to move up and fight the best SMW in the world. Pavlik lost his chance at 160 maybe they'll fight at 168.

Best post of the thread Manik, you are excellent poster, I have tried this many times but the typical response is "Arthur fought Simon and Oral" over the future hofamer Lorenzo and 2 year layed off winky. Don't bother, just remember one of our favorite fighters vacated and moved up to better and stiffer competition. NOW THAT IS THE THRUTH!:deal

Certain people never stop lieing. They wanted Winky, but Winky wouldn't fight for 1.5 million dollars (more than Abraham makes himself for a fight) but was still dreaming of double digit millions because he deemed himself in the same class as Hoya.

The rest was already addressed by Manik, nothing to add. Abraham goes at 5 guys all favoured to beat him at 168, Pavlik takes on the strongest 154 guys he can find west of El Paso.

whether you think pav ducked aa or not, even the biggest aa fans (like landshark) will admit that pav would at least have had a chance to beat aa at 160.

that being said, THE POINT IS what leverage would sauerland have had trying to negotiate aa's way into this tourney if he had a loss on his record at 160?? he wouldnt be able to. so how could sauerland have been serious about fighting pav at 160 when all along he was cultivating this tourney that aa would fight in at 168?? this tourney took a while to plan. you would agree w/ that much right?? so how could sauerland have been negotiating aa's way into his pet project at 168 while at the same time bemoaning the fact that pav won't fight him at 160??

so this whole thing that aa did all he could to get a pav fight and then wanted to challenge himself in this tourney when pav ducked him is bull****. sauerland did a brilliant job playing everyone to maximize the profitability of an unknown mw quantity (aa) fighting in a smw tourney. it was a masterstroke on sauerland's part. im not hating on him at all for doing it. i just can't believe more people don't see that.

that being said...all the best to aa in the tourney. i hold nothing against him at all.

Didn't they say that this tournament was created 2 weeks before they officially announced it? I don't think anybody is hating on AA for joining this tournament but I think AA and most people would of prefer AA to fight Pavlik than join this tournament. AA have a really good chance and AA might of been the favorite to beat Pavlik but he couldn't get the fight so he has to move up to 168 to fight in a tournament where there at least 4-5 fighters better than Pavlik and make less money for it. I'm glad that he's in this tournament but I would have like to see if he would beat Kelly Pavlik at 160 but we'll never know.

I think AA will struggle in this tournament, its a big shame he didnt get Pavlik at 160.

So many quick and skilled guys who are bigger then him, however I reckon his fight with Froch will be a corker :deal

There are NOT 4 or 5 fighters in this that are better than Pavlik. That is a ludicrous statement.

Taylor? We know how that turns out.

Ward and Dirrell are WAY to green to deal with a guy who is going to inflict heavy damage, and force you to fight every second of every round. Both have tons of potential, but they ain't ready for a guy like KP.

Froch? Interesting fight, but Froch would sustain WAY to much damage in the early rounds. He'd be lucky to come out of this as the same fighter who went in.

Abraham? Pavlik would trap Arthur on the ropes and suck the life out of him within 8 rounds.

There is one fighter in this who could probably beat Kelly. Kessler is 60/40 in Mikkel's favor. Give Pav time to grow into the weight properly, and things might change.

Pavlik have had a couple of fights above 160. At 168 I feel that Kessler, AA, Froch, and maybe Dirrell could all beat Pavlik. I would even give Taylor a good shot on beating Pavlik at 168. Pavlik is at his best at 160. He is at his fastest and strongest at 160. At above 160 he has been slower and not at sharp like he is at 168. Pavlik had fights at 168 even before he fought Jermain Taylor in the second fight and in those fights he won but he looked slower and not as powerful like he is at 160. I like Kelly Pavlik but if he was in this tournament he would be ranked as the 5th behind Kessler,AA, Froch,Dirrell, and then Pavlik.

Abraham Vs Froch I'll pay money to see.....there'll be fireworks.

Abraham deserves his spot in the tournament but he has a ton of questions to answer at this level.

Gonna be fun finding out the answers.

this tourney is going to be awesome and i can't wait for these fights. the tourney is a great thing for boxing. however, deserve has nothing to do with it. its about $$. bute, andrade, bika, hell even pav have just as good if not a better resume than aa, dirrell and ward. (well, pav is much better than those three). so while its going to be a blast watching these guys go at eachother, "deserve" plays second fiddle to who can bring in the ratings/bucks...
