    who and why?

IMO Pacquiao's defense is the most underrated in the sport. Cotto's is what it is, porous.

Pac can block and slip punches better that Cotto....Cotto does have good head movement and blocks hooks pretty good but he gets ate up by straight punches and uppercuts

Very slight edge to Pacquiao, since his head movement has been sick recently, but in the long run, I'd say they are about even overall.

Pac but only slightly. Cotto doesn't tie up and retreats too much for me when faced with adversity he's also a sucker for uppercuts and right hands. Pac is flawed as well but to a lesser degree.

Pac will spin Cotto around in circles. Cotto won't be able to throw **** and all the orthedox fighters and PBF nut huggers will say that cotto was weight drained and Pac has no defense.

Its not even close, just Pacquiaos footwork makes him have better defense then Cotto

Pacquiao's defense is much better. He has superior head movement, picks shots off pretty well, and uses his legs in a more educated way to avoid punches. Defense is one of the areas he's improved in. But even before he moved up from 130, think about this....P4P, if Cotto was facing a sharpshooter like JMM (who specializes in uppercuts and counter right hands), how often would he be getting hit? A ton. JMM's connect % really wasn't THAT high against Pac, though he did manage to hit him more than any opponent in a long time.

He will back straight up and allow you to tee off if his feet get crossed. Happens way less than it used to, but it still happens.

Pacquiao. Cotto's defencive frailties will be exposed when the two meet I think.

I'd say pac's offense is his defense

doesn't really matter who has better defense for this fight. coz either..

pac use movements and cotto end up needing ALL his,
or pacs power finally hits ceiling and cotto just walk him over.

pac has better footwork and movement, but i would say all around cotto has better D. pac's is improving by the day, though, while cotto's just seems to stay somewhat consistent. i unno, i picked cotto, but it could def go either way.
