It will if and when he loses to Martinez. He'll have to come back down to the domestic scene and make many defensive improvements- I'll still really enjoy watching him, though, as he is one of Britain's most exciting fighters. If he beats Martinez then expect plenty of defences of the WBO strap:-(. Warren will need to protect him and his dodgy defence if he doesn't make adjustments, IMO.

Takes way too many punches which means his mileage on the clock already is of a fighter in his late 20's. He is due a loss soon and he is not world class. His chin will suddenly leave him and he suffer a brutal KO in his next two or three fights depending on the opp.

I said that since day dot with him. Barry Mcguigan when he was still a analyst with sky said he's very immature and takes to many shots. He can win a world title because the division isn't strong and there's been worse world champions then him but he ain't any great shakes.

I've never rated Mitchell as though he was going to be a world class fighter but Warren's match making for him has been terrible!.... so that gives him even less of a chance to be honest. When he fights a genuine world class fighter he won't know what hit him! and how could he either?

for a guy with his amateur talent to begin with, he was matched very very poorly with little progression for most of his first 20 fights. he's now 29-0 and hasnt even fought for a european title yet.

i think his skills have suffered massively since he got this reputation as a banger. he's got decent power, nothing more. same thing happened with michael jennings for awhile after he knocked out jimmy vincent. guys think they can do that with everyone and their overall game suffers. mitchell very nearly came a cropper against Johanneson because of it. plus it was such a massive step up in quality for him.

his last 2 fights have been shocking as far as standard of opponent is concerned. and i just cant see him being ready for a title shot without at least one tough fight between now and any possible martinez match up.

Well i think he does need to get in with Martinez next.I think it will bring the best out of him and he will win.He may have looked awful last time out but that has happened to Froch and Murray who were written off as **** by some on here only to put a great performance in next time up.Motivation must be hard when you are treading water and all 3 fighters mentioned have done that for various reasons. Its a shame Warren manages Mitchell amongst others but i think he has what it takes to win a world strap or 2!
