Provisional list (I still want to get a couple more opinions in): 1. Haye 2. Froch 3. Khan 4. Hatton 5. Witter 6. Moore 7. Woods 8. Brook 9. Mitchell 10. Cleverly 11. Afolabi 12. Munroe 13. Murray 14. Small 15. Jennings Khan and Hatton are both really close atm - obviously the bottom 5 are also very close. Also how is Rhodes not in the top 15?
I like your list as well. I tend to favour old timers a lot less than most people when ranking participants in most sports - I have consistently said Jason Robinson is the greatest rugby player I have ever seen (not of all time), having followed his career from start to finish, and having seen him in action probably 100 times live, when others look to Neil Fox, Gareth Edwards etc. Because old time fighters were in there every few weeks, and fought on overseas tours.... plenty of those may have been 'exhibition' bouts, with not a great deal of meaning. Just my take on it :good
sorry i really dont think Naz or Calzaghe has the resume to compete with the big boys. Also Lewis dosent impress me hes normally higher but i dont think Heavyweights are that good any more
Don't worry about the order just yet, what if we all highlight some we'd kick out? Then we can start thinning it out...
No i dont agree. Khan has just won a world title. Hatton's just lost his. Khan is improving all the time. hatton's getting worse. Khan has the best coach, Hatton has Lee Beard Khan is world champ and going places Sadly for Hatton he WAS world champ and doesn't seem to be progressing
I am doing a top 15 - there were only 18 fighters voted for. Those not in it were; Rhodes, Macklin and Hall.
All valid points, Dan, but surely you can't deny that at the moment (not in terms of potential) Hatton has the better CV?
Yeah he does but the stand out 2 knocked him out. Not hating on Hatton here coz in his day I loved him. But there's plenty out there with better resumes who are on the decline. they do not get p4p status on resume unless its recent IMO
I cannot think of many British fighters (none actually) better H2H than Lennox Lewis. Part of the reason that I have him at #1. His resume pisses on any British fighter of the alphabet era as well.
