Didn't Toney get kinda wild after the sparing session with Green and pull out a gun and threaten some people? or is that a differnt incident?

I don't understand how fighters do **** in sparring, yet in a real fight they do amazing

Sugar Shane Mosley retiring Zack Padilla after a series of murderous sparring sessions.

Zack was the current WBO champ...undefeated in 15 or so fights...people said Zack wasn't the same after sparring SSM.

I remember Williams was telling the whole world about that story when Margo was ducking him  , talking about how he made Margs nose bleed and was told "don't come back" after one session :rofl .

Just watched that spar on youtube: not a beating. Looks like Toney was genuinely doing a good job helping Green improve his boxing. If anything, it looks like Green had the better of the fight, but since it was sparring, there's no reason to believe Toney was trying to 'win' the session.

  10. I remember talking with Curtis Cokes at a boxing show and he kept mentioning that Kirk Johnson would annihilate Ike every sparring session... Was gonna mention it but ppl would think I was smoking crack.......

    Also:
    Travis Walker kd Vitali Klit
    Ebo Elder ko'd Vernon Forrest
    BJ Flores kd Jirov
Kevin Johnson put Wlad Klit down 3 times in sparring
Bobby Gunn kd Joe Mesi (Before Mesi fought Keith McKnight)
and finally the best of all:
Zuri Lawrence kd Michael Grant (training for Jameel McCline):rasta

  11. I believe it was Fiday the 13th Ahunaya that put Tyson down. And from what I understand Tyson was in serious pain from the shot....Best thing to do is pm BIGCAT, He is Friday's manager he can give you the info.

Ali never abused Holmes in sparring. Norton did give Ali fits in sparring and that's one reason he felt he could beat Ali in a real bout.

Sparring in most cases are just to get familiar with a certain style that an upcoming opponent has. Sometimes a fighter will get serious while the other is just going through the motions. That's where some of these stories are coming from.
