Kelly doesn't really have a 'best punch'. He wears you down. Size matters. That is why there are weight classes. Pdub has to eat like horse to keep the weight up when training for MW.

This is the fight Pavlik needs to land. Sturm and Winky aren't bad but they are clearly the second and third choices. Pavlik's last two defenses have been Rubio and Lockett and then he never got the Abraham fight. He needs a serious title defense. Williams just pitched close to a shutout over Winky, he's a hot fighter right now, he is a style nightmare for Pavlik, and its probably the fight the fans want the most at 160. Very good fight that I think Pavlik wins by being the stronger man and wears Williams down. I see an even fight until late when Pavlik pulls it out. Pavlik by decision.

i agree that pwilly may be jumping the gun here on his mw career and may have wanted to consider easing his way into a fight w/ pav. i agree w/ wwm that its unclear how he will handle pav's power. but what's more important is not so much how he handles pav's power but how he handles someone who is willing to walk through everything he throws. can pwilly keep pav off him?? i think not. i think they will trade the first few rounds, w/ pwilly maybe even outworking pav early on but pav has been hit w/ some absolute bombs and still comes forward. i don't think pwilly has the firepower to make pav stop coming forward. that being said THIS IS A BIG FIGHT...its not a mega fight but it is a big fight. props to both fighters for taking it. it is a big risk for both. pwilly risks getting ktfo and pav risks losing to a guy who has campaigned at ww recently.

that being said...DAMN LANDSHARK!!! ive never seen you get this fired up before!! you are usually pretty level headed about these things

edit to not that i admit im getting excited about a fight that's not even signed and sealed yet but what the ****, i can't help myself

thats okay...i am definetly a pavlik fan but i also like aa..pavlik also gets discredited and no matter what he does ,he does not get credit for it.its like they say damned if he does and damned if he dont..i realy think itf it was not for the tournament those 2 would be fighting..but thats okay i do feel they will eventualy...i do however think this wil be a good fight and a war...kelly feels like he has something to prove and i see that for this fight..he has already started some training thats how excited he is to fight so we will see..

pavlik is still humble..pav did not beat up a cop..a off duty cop was out drinking, got beer muscles had words with pavlik, then sprayed pav with pepper mace, then pav hit him..pav does go out drinking with friends as we all did in our 20s but i would not say that is a person with drinking problems..and he has no criminal record..

i agree w/ everything you just typed landshark except that it is not being billed as a "huge" fight. the exact word pav's camp used to describe his next fight was "big" and yes it is "big" considering it is against a top 10p4p fighter who just owned winky. i understand your frustration but come on and give both of these guys some credit. pwilly is risking getting sparked cold and pav is risking getting beat by a 147/154 at best in your book.

pwilly would beat any of the other fighters that were mentioned for pav (maybe not balzsay simply b/c of his size and southpaw stance) but pwilly is beating sturm, winky (obviously) and martinez and those are the ones that hbo "approved" so wtf??

Nice this is really the only good fight left at 160 lbs. Hope it happens but i really would love to see this fight as the co-main event in november with pac-cotto as main event.

    Pac-Cotto
    Pavlik-Williams
    Lopez -Caballero

    bob arum make it happen:lol:

. . . enough to pumped me up for now. :D

Means both sides are trying to amend their differences.

I still don't understand how people got so worked up over the things he said about the SMW tourney. I think they were looking to hate.

He is leading the contingent of those blaming Pavlik for the Abraham fight not happening. Not Kelly's fault AA didn't want to make weight at middle anymore and got a good offer at SMW. I've always said Team Pavlik couldn't make their decisions on AA's ability/willingness to make 160.
