The one defense of this thread is that prime Hatton versus young Cotto at 140 might have been a winnable fight for Hatton. Cotto's chin trouble is well documented at the weight, and he was less technical, since his jab was still developing. And he didn't have his full "man's" strength yet.

A weight drain Cotto broke Pauile cheek bone. If Cotto wasn't weight drain he would ko Paulie faster then Hatton did.

 

Castillo was beyond shot for the Hatton fight.

 

Paulie didn't have a broken cheek bone when Hatton won by tko in the 11th. Hell Paulie was pissed that the fight was stopped cause he wanted to continue.

He defeated Judah-Clottey and quintana who are all in the top 10 welterweight ranking. Sure he doesn't have the defense of mayweather or speed of pacquiao but the guy has fought the best welterweight and came out the winner.

He is that much better than hatton. Look at the competition at welterweight and the competition at jr welterweight when hatton was champion. until pacquiao-marquez-campbell etc came up to 140 lbs, many were saying it was a weak division compare to welterweight who many think is the best division in boxing.
