will it make you re-evaluate his victories over de la hoya and to a lesser extent hatton and hold the victories in higher esteem?
I've watched the pac-oscar fight several times recently and altho weight was an issue im starting to believe pac just had too much variety for oscar and was a bad style match up

Not really, Cotto IMO is not shot and is still strong in his prime. DLH was done for and well, Hatton was a KO waiting to happen and Pacquiao was the 1 to do it.

DLH obviously had a serious training and weight error for the pac fight. At his age and experience I just dont udnestand why he came in so light so far into his career, it was a terrible move.

Pac deserves mad credit for whooping Hattons ass so one sided. Nothing to take away there. Further the above poster is right and if Pac beats Cotto he deserves mad respect.

If Pac beats Cotto then respect to him. I feel that Cotto is not 100% after that loss but I feel that in this fight Cotto will be out to prove a point and If Manny dominates him I will be suprised, but respect has to be given.

Cotto was broken by Margarito, plaster or not. Floyd is right, it was a brutal beating that probably bent Cotto's will permanently. On the other hand, Cotto is still a legitimate welterweight that is still among the top three or four. If Pacquiao wins against him, it would be a huge feat yet again for a fighter who reasonably many thought might have been taking on a weight class too high coming in to the David Diaz bout.

I would have preferred they meet at the full 147lb limit though,as Cotto weighed 146lb anyway against Clottey. Win or lose, there would be no asterisks on the record books for either guy. As it is, all these matters weighed, it is still a compelling fight.

Not really, I would still look at the fights individually. You have to keep in mind that ODLH was Manny's first fight at welter so he might just be better around this time. But if he dominates Cotto I will definitely give him all of my respect.

I would be totally surpised should he dominate cotto. cotto is a prime, natural welter and a great fighter and is one of the best welter (if not the best) right now. he fought and beat the top wleters (except marg probabbly w/ loaded gloves).

Cotto was ruined by Margarito and was a knockout waiting to happen. JMM and Floyd would have beaten him too, probably even worse

I give him plenty of respect for getting in there with a much larger fighter. If Pac can dominate, he should get all the credit in the world.
