If Cotto proves victorious would this be his greatest victory in his career thus far?

I know everyone looks at the mosley win as his best. but would beating pacquiao at 145 be his best win of his career? and if so would that win be more valuable than potential future wins(if the fights happen) over paul williams, mayweather, and a mosley rematch)

I'll rate his wins (assuming they fight and he wins) against fmj and williams higher. A win against pac would be big but for me pac isnt a natural ww unlike the former two. He already beat mosley in a close fight and another win against him wouldnt actually be that significant anymore.

Cotto doesnt get credit for anything... If he boxes hes running away, if he fights with one eye and someone with possible loaded gloves, he has no heart. He only wins because the fans are scoring the fight and it's in MSG. God forbid if Manny wins, he will be cosider the greatest, but if Cotto wins, its just another fight with plenty of excuses. There is no more boxing fans, it's all about jumping in the bandwagon and favoritism.

Yes it would be by far his biggest win, specially if you consider the momentum (or lack of) that he's bringing into this fight.

i dont think people should put too much emphasis on that.

cottos resume over the last 2 or 3 years is as fearsome as it gets.

yes but coming off his first loss, long layoff, a tune up that made him a champ and such an ugly and difficult fight with Clottey his win could be seen or have the effect of Mosleys victory over Marg or B-Hops victory over Pavlik. A sort of resurrection of a career and a fighters image. Or at least that is how I view it.

    i agree with that.
i think most people will agree pac is the better fighter, what makes this fight interesting is is pac the better fighter at this weight.

i personally dont think cottos style is a good matchup for pacs, an as long as pac can move for 12 rounds i think hell take it.

:goodgood post. cotto is on ring magazine's cover this month and the headline reads as if they're already writing cotto off. a win against manny pac would be HUGE, far bigger than mosley and would legitimately push him closer to the HOF (he's got a ways to go yet)
