Vitali fighting Maskaev, now, after the recent filing to keep from doing so......that'd be wild.

But of who's left, and who is willing to fight, I think Ruiz would offer probably the most interesting fight, assuming Chambers is not a possibility.

And Valuev is not 6 inches taller than Vitali, he's a bit over 3 inches taller. I think Vitali is just shy of 6 foot 8 ( if not a full 6 foot 8..) and Valuev is just a hair over 6 foot 11. Said so, himself.

If Vitali wasn't so injury prone ... he could fight a whole bunch of second tier guys ... one every two months. It would generate a lot of cash and keep the boxing public entertained.

Coz really, there aren't a lot of really top tier HWs (who are likely to be competitive against Vitali) around at this point in time.

Sounds like you guys are ready to admit that there's no other HW fight other than Haye that's worthwhile right now.

Yet I see an absence of his name in any of your lists. hmmmm.

I wrote this before. Its very clear, Arreola just doesnt want the fight. IMO he would have been much better off with the media and boxing fans to say that "Im just not ready for a championship run yet" or "I want to get more fights in before I challenge a champion" INSTEAD it was "I am not in shape and I cant get in shape in time"

What is it with these fighters? Just saying the truth. You would gey more respect from me and many other
..."I hurt my back" which really means "Im not getting paid"

..."it was a slave contract" which really means "I found an easier fight"

..."I cant get in shape in time" which means "I dont want to fight you"

Well it looks like a fight between both sides could not be made now could it? Conveniently Vitali will very likely retire before Haye will be able to ever "come back to the negotiating table" (as he said).

Vitali - Haye will never happen, that's for sure.

Wlad - Haye I haven't give up my hope, I just don't think its possible within the next 12-18 months. Maybe in 2-3 years, but we'd have to pray Wlad doesn't lose his title until then and he doesn't fade too much until he's 38. He, too can be knocked out at any time just like Haye.

Do you guys think if Arreola was willing to fight Vitali in LA/California they could fill up a 15,000 seat venue? Or would such a fight at this point in time (say Oct) not generate enough interest in the US?

I take it HBO would be interested either way?

That fight would easily sell out the Staples Center. Vitali has fought there twice against Lewis and Sanders which were both sell outs. Arreola has a good sized fan base in LA also. HBO has been pushing for either Klitschko to fight Arreola.
