WAY too much faith in a guy who's career highlight is knocking out a 9-0 (that's important, an under 10 fights) Jaidon Codrington and Rubin Williams who was coming off a loss to Jeff Lacy and a gift draw against Antwan Echols. Green is more known for the fights he was supposed to have than he is for the fights hs HAS had. Andrade would mentally break down Green by walking through his power shots and wearing him out much like he did against Bute. Bute is technically sufficient enough to take a decision against Green, especially because his performance against Andrade is an abboration and now the geniuine article. He probably beats Bika...although Bika outwilling him isn't out of the question. Bika is a dirty fighter who takes anyone out of their game plan and Allan Green isn't exactly what I'd consider to be a sturdy minded fighter. Pavlik? Dispatches of Green. Pavlik is a lot better than people give him credit for being. IMHO Pavlik would KO Green even at a higher weight. Balszay and Bika are his best chances...but that would require PERFECT match making and a KO for him to advance to the Semis.
WTF? KP is durable as **** and Allan greens chin aint granite ****ing Mccary is all i got to say. KP could put him to sleep but Green does have power also. i would favour KP because he is the more proven fighter. Andrade gots a ****ing chin and has got his own power green would try to mix it up and his chin would fail him in that fight. Bute is better at every thing then green more athletic, faster, bigger and has more power. and bute can also take a shot although he got lucky IMO with Andrade he can take a shot. look at the Berrio fight he took a feew big shots in that fight and Berrio hits way harder then green. As for bika . Bika could rough up green pretty bad and has the power to KO green. and Vice Versa. i see this as a truly 50/50 fight. you can't mark both mens Fights with a common opponet and say well green beat him faster style's make fights. As for Balszay. he gots some solid skills and some pop of his own. not seen enough of him to make a gague but he does seem to be well rounded from the Clips i've seen. as for Green i like watching him fight and he's very articulate in his post fight interviews (loved the Hammer of thor comment after he Ko'd Deleon JR) Green has good skill and pretty good power. but his lapses in concentration and his punch resitance is his Weakness. but i do hope he does get a big fight soon
Bute will beat Green in his hometown Green might get overwhelmed by Bika and his dirty tactics Andrade would face a tired Green in the last rounds and maybe TKO him. Green is good but on the same level as Balzsay and just a little over Bika. Bute and Pavlik are clearly a step in front of Allan Green...
It is not quite as top-class as the Super Six, but ... honestly? If the super six had not been made and this had I would have said WOW!!!! What a seriously great tourney! It still is. Still really good and would be GREAT GREAT GREAT if it could be made. I just don't think the promoters can agree on it (just like I definitely didn't think the promoters for super six could agree...
I think its every bit as good as the super 6. And the really great thing about it is that it sets up a mega-fight between the 2 winners What bothered me about the super 6 is that you don't even have the #2 and #3 SMWs in the division. Now you have a situation where all 12 top SMWs would be in a tournament
HBO seems to be under the impression they only need to stage ONE fight, Pavlik/Bute, and the winner of that fight would face the 'super 6' winner. They do with one fight what takes Showtime how many fights to do? Hmm....
I saw that Pavlicks guy at Super Middleweight before, he looked about as good as Will "Kidfire" McIntyre did against Joseph Calzaghe. It's a very poor list with the exception of Bika.
Not a bad list. I'd drop Andrade down a notch perhaps and Abraham may be over ranked considering he has one win at a catch weight over Miranda at SMW. I can understand why you put Froch where you have, skills not great but, he has done what he has had to do so far. That is why I'd still put him over Andrade at the moment. I guess what makes these lists tricky is you have to balance what has someone done and what do you think they could do.
Froch has beaten the guy who you consider number six ranked SMW and a guy who then went up to win the WBC light heavyweight title. He's never been beaten. Andrade was completely dominated by Kessler, was comfortably handled by Bute for 11 rounds on his way to a wide points defeat and has beaten......Robert Stieglitz? Froch is unbeaten and, even on your rankings, has by far the most impressive win. How on earth does Andrade rank ahead of him?
well froch was losing too before the KO. to someone who he ranks much lower than bute so maybe that is why. or somewhat anyway.
how does Froch have "by far the most impressive win on my rankings?" you're not making sense And unlike you, I don't put too big an emphasis on being unbeaten. Alot of the greatest fighters of all time already had losses when they were smack in their primes. I rate fighters on the quality of their performances
Froch has the most impressive win because he's beaten Taylor, who you rank six, whereas I don't see Stieglitz or Tsypko on your list. That would seem a fairly simple concept. Who said I put emphasis on being unbeaten? I rate Froch higher than Andrade because he has two wins better than anyone Andrade has beaten. Andrade has fought two fighters who you could argue are better than Froch's wins, but was widely beaten twice.
Yea but Bute and Kessler both beat the number 3 guy, so how does Froch "have the most impressive win" As for Andrade, I never said Andrade's best win was better than Froch's best win. Andrade almost beat the number 2 guy, while Froch barely beat the number 6 guy. I think Andrade would knock Taylor out, and he would beat Froch too.
