Who cares about the belts? Everyone knows Mosley is the true welterweight champion now, anyway.

Pacquiao is merely fighting a belt holder, he is not fighting the best welterweight in the world.

Roach knows better than to put Manny in there against Shane.

Leather belt & medal in '09 is just a chip, It's Pac's "Title" that is truly on the line.

Shane and Cotto have some unfinished business between themselves that should've gotten settled before Pac targeted one of them. I see them as being pretty much equal until they get that rematch straightened out. :deal

    This isn't true.

Imagine Cotto loses this fight. How can he consider himself a champion when he was beaten within the welterweight limit?

I understand the frustration with the catchweight (although I think it's fair in this case - for unfair cases just look at Hopkins and Mayweather) but this belt needs to be on the line.

Otherwise whathe F*CK does Pac get out of this fight? NOTHING. Whoever he fights will generate **** loads of money.

Pac is giving Cotto the opportunity of a LIFETIME. THE BIGGEST FIGHT OF COTTO'S LIFE. The biggest purse, legacy, and if Cotto wins HUGE HUGE HUGE fights against Mayweather/Mosley if he wins.

Again what does Pac get out of this fight? NOTHING. If there is a belt on the line at least he gets to claim a belt in a seventh weight division.

It's a major title in a division he never won a title in, of course it means a lot.

Cotto doesn't seem confident at all to me.

Why should they fight on the rules of any belt (weight, contenders).

I hope every fighter will do this, then maybe there will be only one belt and only 8 weightclasses.

It's like money, if you print too much of it you have only paper left.

Imagine Guys like Pavlik, Abraham, Kessler, Forch or Taylor want only one belt.

Well in that case that makes the catchweight justifiable

Except for heavyweight, the title should only be on the line if you are allowed to meet the actual weight limit of the division. It's crazy to risk your title at a lower weight. This is a non-title fight. It should actually be 10 rounds.

Fighting and beating Mosley now is worthless. Mosley is old and if he fights Pacquiao at 140, he will feel drained and powerless. Pacquiao will KO him and everyone will criticize him. If Pacquiao is going to fight Mosley it should be at 145 or 147, same with Cotto.

Damn if this is true. Cotto needs to cowboy the **** up.

Sanctioning fees and catchweights are bull**** excuses.

I hope the fight gets called off and Pac just goes and wait for the winner of JMM/PBF.

He has nothign to gain from a fight with Cotto other than money, people will use the drain excuse if COtto loses and there is no titles for Pacman to add on to a legacy.
