It was the opportunity to fight for a title and a pay day on a PPV. Rubillar was already going them a favor by coming in on short notice after not one but two of their top fights had fallen apart. He was overmatched and wasn't going to win and had taken a pounding the last two rounds, the stoppage was fine.
Because of opportunity. I would agree that he shouldnt have come there in the first place. If they will sub someone just be sure its a week notice at least. Rubillar came them handicapped, but thats not an excuse because he took the shot. All im stating is that was a freaking mismatch and a bad move by whoever made that bout. Theres like tons of boxers out there. And I wont call it a stupid move.
To be fair after losing your main event, co-main event and looking at another fiasco with yer NEW co-main event...they just threw something at the wall and hoped it would stick. They really should've just canceled the event in all honesty but hey, such is life.
Bleh, the whole thing stinks. Fighters get paid to fight, and they took the easy way out which I really don't agree with. Take the money and run.....
I don't necessarily care enough either way to argue for or against it. I certainly see why one would be upset. I can just see the logic behind Rubillar getting a shot even if he didn't deserve it. They had already ****ed up TWO fights and the 3rd was in jeopardy. They more or less pulled a name out of a hat on Thursday/friday, Rubillar agreed...flew 25 hrs to get there in time for the fight. Took on a tough guy in Segura, got battered and gave in.
You are being stupid. The guy didn't even run. He would probably try to stand for the last bell if he has too. His corner threw in the towel because health is better than the money they would get in that fight. He stand there and took all the shots without going down. He was still throwing when the corner threw in. Sir you are stupid and blind.
Truth be told, the whole card probably should've been cancelled, I guess. Even though I really am glad I'm getting to see Antillon.
