Horrible news. Forrest was a very good fighter, and from what I've seen, a very good person in general.

    Very very very sad.
Shocked when I first saw the news.
Its very depressing for boxing the last couple of weeks.
First Arguello, then gatti plus naza.
    Rest in peace for Forrest
Prayers for the Family left behind.
    Very sad

this is really sad news on top of all the other tragic losses we've had in the sport these past weeks.

Vernon was def one of my favorite fighters to watch ever since him and Mosley first fought. he had great boxing skills but fought his ass off whenever he felt weakness in himself or his opponents. at the same, he was a real person and always carried a positive attitude when spoken to around fights, win or lose.

he was a great champion and im def going to miss his contribution to the sport. R.I.P. Viper...

Watched the local news (for Atlanta) and Vernon was shot in the back by one of the assailants who had positioned himself as Vernon was chasing the other assailant down with his own weapon. Keep in mind, Vernon's kid was in the car and he #1 priority was probably to protect him. There were several witnesses and another car-jacking in the same area that night. Police sounded as if they had several leads.

    God ****ing damnit.

I always liked Vernon. He came off as a very nice man in and out of the ring.

This senseless killing has got to stop.
