I just think Monzon would win because he is better on the outside, that jab is so consistent, and he can counter with ripping shorter shots to thwart Fulmer's aggressive attempts.

    No stoppage though.

Fullmers strength gives Carlos prolems but Monzon's accurate punching proves the decisive factor. Monzon wins on points in a gruelling battle.

I only wonder in what style this fight would be fought. Both had a tendency to fight backing up against an aggressive opponent.

Fullmer did this against Basilio, Tiger, Fernandez, Lausse. Against better boxers he would be highly aggressive and try to rough them up.

I think it could be interesting. Fullmer was not an easy man to fight for anyone it seemed.

I do think however that in the end Monzon would be successful at executing a gameplan of using his greater height and reach to his advantage, punishing the shorter Fullmer as he presses forward aggressively, if in case he does. Monzon was patient in dealing with any kind of style and also perhaps a bit stronger, tougher and a better boxer.

I'm going to get shot, but I think Monzon would win this rather easily - I think he would out-box his man thoroughly and win a lop-sided decision.

It's a question of class for me.

Monzon. The ability to maintain his fighting distance is key here. Fullmer will prove his strength inside, but Monzon is very strong as well. Fullmer would certainly oblige Monzon with roughousing on the inside. Fullmer has moments, but overall it's Monzon by UD

I say Monzon on points, as a charging Fullmer is forcefed leather the whole night.

Same with me. I often felt Fullmer was, though a tough fighter, slightly intimidated by some types. He wouldn't be as reckless as he'd need to be to win.

    LaMotta would fare better.

This is a vote, by the way, for Monzon.

I would go with Monzon by a wide decision because of his Boxing ability. He would stay on the outside and pound Fullmer with the jab.

I think Fullmer has a much better shot than anyone is giving him. I don't see him standing on the outside and letting Monzon potshot him. He most likely would use his excellent footwork to circle Monzon and then rush in low, and frankly, I have no idea how Monzon would deal with that. There will likely be a lot of infighting with Fullmer mauling and butting and the like. Much would depend if this fight is in the USA under relaxed rules or in Europe or Argentina where they wouldn't allow Fullmer to fight his fight.

As no one picked Fullmer, and this was such a terrible draw for him, I will go with Fullmer to pull an upset. His unorthodox, clumsy style, fighting in a crouch with his arms crossed in front of his face and rushing in with punches from all angles, gives him a much better shot at beating Monzon than a more orthodox fighter would have.

Fullmers rough and easy to hit style plays into Monzons hands.

Monzon takes him apart with ruthlessness efficiency from the outside with hard 1-2s. Monzon on PTS but a late mercy stoppage could be on the cards
