Rocky Marciano used to almost sleep in his dressing room before his fights:lol::lol: I've seen his manager talk on a documentary, he said everytime I asked him how he felt while in dressing room, he would just reply "tired.....":D

I fought in toughman in front of a 1000 people or so and it never affected me, but I've saw a guy faint 2 times right before time to walk in and he finally gave up he was just to nervous, but 15000 is a whole different story.

I got a good one for you guys. Imagine the nerves walking to the ring to fight a

top rated fighter in his hometown in his home country knowing you have walking

pneumonia which weakens the **** out of you. You can't pull out of the fight because

financial obligations won't afford you that option due to the sacrifices you made to train

for the fight. Boxing sure can be tough sometimes.

I don't know how i'd handle walkin into MSG or Vegas but i know like Koyla said its hard enough in the amateurs to not let the nerves get the better of u.

not one of my 17 fights in the ams did i not get nervous and it always was the worst just before walkin from the warm up room.

Most times i just tried not to pay attention to the whole situation. just kept tellin myself i'd trained hard and it was nothin but a regular day all that self motivational stuff..

What i do know is the since hangin the gloves up that feelin ya get when your out there under the lights, all eyes are on you, people are cheering for or against ya, win or loose... its a feelin that is completely different to anything else i've ever felt.

These days i get that bubbly excited feeling in my stomach when i think bout those times... at the time i didnt feel that coz the nerves were hitting me....

I think what keeps the top guys focused is just a combination in confidence in themselves and just the excitemet they feel on the walk to the ring.

Well I would imagine some of them do the same as me. I put the thought into my head that they are the underdogs; they are more worried about me than I am about them.

tyson fights always hyped me up even if i was oceans apart. same with pac and morales fights.

some fighters handle it well, smiling or smug on the way to the ring. as if its just another day at the office. like pac and tyson.

some fighters though look as if they are on their way to death row. like seldon and frank bruno.

Exactly dude. Good to see you back. The thing I think does it for the top guys is they almost universally have an extensive amateur background and are have the experience to fall back on of competing in pressure situations before. That's part of what an amateur career is for, getting you accustomed to the ring, learning your fighting style and staying calm and executing in a live situation.

Those who can't handle the bright lights never could anyway. Walking into the ring is like no other. You are not nervous about the opponent, you get butter flies because your dream is about to happen. Once you hear the crowd, and they are talking shite to you, grabbing at you, calling your name, and then you see your mother, you become super confident. Once you get settled down in the ring, it is doing what you love to do. Those guys who don't have patience usually lose early or blow their wad early, and when they lose, chalk it up as a learning experience. Losing a fight can be a learning experience, losing the fight during the walk in can't be.

Not fully back in the game yet work is still makin it hard for me but im defo hopin to at least get myself into the gym at least twice a week startin in 2 days as its the only night the gym is open im free from work :( this week.

another thing that i think helps alot of boxers through it (at least it help me) is the sense of pride and accomplish ment u get from knowing your doin soething alot of people wouldn't do.
