Jermain Taylor wins this in my opinion. Abraham isn't as much of a daevastating puncher as the likes of Pavlik/Froch. If Taylor can floor Froch who has a very good chin then he could very well do the same to Abraham. Abraham is woeful in early rounds where Taylor will pick him off with ease. He wont have the stamina or power to hurt Taylor late on :deal

On the contrary i disagree with this , for 1 the fight is at SMW not MW , and Abraham while powerfull is 1 paced and that suits Taylor , its the fighters who can up the pace and find other gears that trouble Taylor , i really see AA struggling to do much against Taylors skills .

Me i strongly fancy Taylor here i think Abraham will come out of this tourney near the bottom .

I doubt Taylor will win this one.

If he had trouble with Pavlik's power and aggressiveness, he will have more of it against Abraham.

AA essentially KO'd miranda (@166lbs)with one punch. It took pavlik numerous sunday punches to get miranda in trouble. :rofl:rofl

Yes I have. He's a middleweight who is about a foot smaller than everyone else and is definately not on par with Froch and Pavlik (less so admittedly) in terms of power.
You cannot seriously say he hits harder than Froch.

In the early rounds of a fight he looks 10x worse than Froch did in the Taylor fight and this will allow Taylor to hurt him. He will not recover the way Froch Pavlik did and it therefore will be irrelevant how Taylor gasses

It is your opinion and I respect it, hopefully you do mine, but I have to respectfully disagree with everything you wrote including height.

No worries Lanshark mate. Not sure how you can disagree with the height thing. Did you see the pic of him/Froch and Kessler ? I'm on a work comp so cannot post a pic but he's around a foot smaller than them 2 anyway.

It will be a very good fight nonetheless I just think Talyor is being overlooked and IMO will spring a suprise :good

Out of the first 3 fights in the super six tournament Taylor/Abraham is the only one that seems like a "picke 'em" fight to me. If we were talking about the Jermain Taylor who was the undisputed, undefeated middlweight champion, I would VERY confidently pick JT to beat Abraham 120-108, and make it look easy. However, I'm not sure that fighter still exists.

Even a shot to **** Jermain Taylor is a huge step up when compared with guys like Ayala, Simon, and Oral. They do have one common opponent in Raul Marquez. Jermain fought, and stopped, a version of Marquez that was still fighting guys like Vargas and Mosely. Abraham fought and stopped a version that had a very recent draw with the equally faded Bronco McKart.

Sebastian Demers had a 33% KO ratio, and his previous 5 opponents had a collective 29 losses. Mahir Oral had a 46% KO ratio and his previous 5 opponents had a collective 35 losses. When Abraham is in the ring with guys like that he looks like a beast. What he looks like against a world class opponent remains a mystery because he simply hasn't faced one.

If Jermain is not ruined, he represents absolutely everything that troubles Abraham. And, it's pretty simple to sum up the things that trouble AA; they're called boxing skills. On Jermain's end this fight is all about controling the distance and setting the tempo. If Jermain has at least 3/4 of a tank of gas left, that should be pretty easy. Arthur's defense is ridiculously over rated, and Jermain has one of the best jabs in the business. If a guy like Simon can penetrate Abraham's guard and snap his head back with jabs, JT will not only snap Arthur's head back, he'll also make Abraham think twice about trying to open up. Setting the tempo should not be difficult either. Jermain can push AA to fight at a quicker pace than he likes without risking running out of steam himself.

I've read repeated statements that basically say, "JT will gas and Arthur will KO him." Jermain taylor has been 12 rounds 9 times, and that includes Hopkins twice, Winky Wright, Kelly Pavlik, and he was 14 seconds from a clear decision over Froch. Abraham throws 30 punches in a busy round, and spends most of his time standing around like he's waiting for a ****ing bus! It seems silly to assume that Jermain will gas against a guy like Abraham.

Control the distance, control the tempo, stay reasonbly busy, and JT wins a clear UD. In my opinion the only real question is about whether or not Jermain has anything left.

I am certain that if (when) Abraham wins against Taylor the Pavlik fans will say that Taylor was ruined. ;)

If you beat Hopkins twice, and then lose to a guy who let Shannon Taylor and LuJaun Simon finish on their feet, what the hell else could it mean.

It is not a questinon of being certain, it is a "GIVEN" and already been mentioned by booradley, in arthur's case it is damned if you do and damned if you don't. But look into Carl Froch threads and you will see "some" fans saying how JT made Froch look amateur and how he was 14 seconds away from a C L E A R(which I find funny by the way) decision, which I disagree, I had Froch up 1, he controlled the majority of the 2nd half of the fight.
That is a guarantee and you can quote me on it, I am actually predicting an arthur KTFO between 6 and 8. The threads will be all over the place and it will go like the following: ARTHUR BEAT A RUINED JTAYLOR(remember this is the guy that was 14 seconds away from beating the 2nd or 3rd best SMW in the world.
And now we have Pavlik fighting a 147/154 pound fighter. I made a big fuss over it because if arthur did the same, his call for his execution would have been imminent. I actually think Pavlik/Williams is a **** fight and would not be surprised if Pavlik finished it in the first 3 or 4 rounds and would not be impressed one bit. REMEMBER, and I always repeat this:
YOU NEED TO BUILD YOUR PROFILE, I am sure you know who said that
but Pavlik was talking to world renowned FELIX STURM, SERGIO MARTINEXZ and NOW PAUL WILLIAMS who can't sell out an arena if his life depended on it. I guess TOP RANK AND ARUM consider the above mentioned as fighters with "BUILIT PROFILES
