Sadly, his recent previous fights do not tell us anything that will convince us he will beat a dangerous heavy puncher in Abraham. If anything else, those performances only magnified his weakness, his lack of stamina, which hinders him from being an effective and strong finisher.
I´am not sure that AA wins against Taylor. Taylor is the way better Boxer and wins in my opinion 10 rounds easily. Arthur can knock him out at the later rounds but when Jermain is saftey he can win a wide PS. Arthur is passiv in the early rounds but bang like a HW when he got warmup. i prefer Arthur but i wont bet my money on that fight.
False. I have been underrating him since he was TKO'd helplessly by Pavlik in their first fight. Hhhmmm... Actually, I think my doubts began when he was not able to finish off Spinks and Ouma convincingly. Especially Ouma, who was there for him to hit. I know he is a good fighter, but he has his limitations, and those limitations won't be enough to make him an elite champion, to justify the hype after his 2 wins over Hopkins. There goes my underrating of the guy.
He definitely will, but i think there is more to Taylor than just his conditioning problems. He managed to find himself on the canvas against the journeyman level Jeff Lacy and has been knocked out brutally twice now. He has clearly declined fairly significantly and there are probably long term mental/confidence consequences as a result. Taylor's punch resistance is probably going to be worse than ever. The big unknown here imo is whether Taylor pulls his head out of his clacker after realising his last two performances were sub par, or if another knockout has blown his confidence out even more (more likely of the two). Taylor will probably lead for most of the fight, AA will start slow and let Taylor breathe, but the odd clean shot from the solid hitting Abraham will take its toll. Froch didn't exactly apply Pavlik-like pressure, i don't think a particularly high work rate is necessary to take Taylor out nowdays.
Agreed. Taylor will surprise his doubters. People underestimate Taylor because they underestimate Froch who only just beat him. Taylor - UD.
JT has a snow balls chance in hellof beating AA. Paul Williams has more than a 50% chance to beat Pavlik. This isn't hate. Many posters feel this way.
I can see this fight ending two ways: (1) Abraham connects with some big bombs and takes Taylor out. JT doesn't have a great defence (not a bad defence, but not a great one either) and Abraham has the power and finishing skills to end it if he hurts JT. (2) JT outboxes and outworks Abraham off the back foot. I'd prefer to see (1), since I'm a bit of an AA fan and I'd like to see him go on to big fights against Pavlik and Froch, but I think (2) is slightly more likely.
One thing is for certain - whatever happens in the fight, if Taylor fights unusually clever beating Abraham, or Abraham fighting a superb fight smashing Taylor to pieces showing very good instinctive boxing connecting at will, Hoohapless will continue to slag, ***** and moan about him to no end. When Abraham dies at 78 having won 7 titles in 3 weightclasses, Hoo will suddenly jump out of the woodwork on his funeral and start screaming "he was a bum ! he never fought anyone good ! his technique was beyond bad, everyone could have easily beaten him with one arm behind his back if not for the german judges !".
