This is a myth. According to all records, Williams is 6' 1" and Pavlik is 6' 2.5". Pavlik is slightly taller.
That's the "armpit to fist" measurement, so Williams' long fingers and wide back don't make his reach seem longer than it is.
I hope so. I've just been disappointed of late by pressure fighters not "bringing war" - Margo on Mosley, Pavlik on B-Hop. I know it's the opponent taking it away from you, but I hope Pavlik doesn't hope to simply box this guy. If he goes in there to run him over, Williams will get KTFO'd.
Err, what? Miranda was on the back foot, but that doesn't mean he was literally walking backwards the whole night. To back the guy up in the first place you have to walk through his shots. They were "trading bombs at short range" in Jim Lampley's words all night.
There were points in that Miranda fight where Kelly took flush bombs with Miranda moving forward, and Kelly just looked at him like "**** you. Hit me again." Afterward he said, "It made me feel kinda funny."atsch Some myths just refuse to die.
Forget what Lampley said. The panther was a declawed kitten all night. None of his punches had any steam on them. That night was a testament to Pavlik's strategy, not to his durability. Give credit where it's due, but not where it isn't. :good
Incorrect. Williams has always been listed at 6'1, but is closer to 6'3, possibly more. Anyone who has watched him knows he isn't 6'1, unless Margo is actually 5'2. Like Hearns lied about his height because nobody would fight such a tall welterweight, Williams did the same. Not sure wha you're saying here. Firstly, its the armpit to the tip of the fist, not the fingers. Yes, its the arm length, which is what the poster I responded to was asking for.
