He had his losses, but overall he was a more enertaining fighter to watch. Yes, people made jokes about him getting his chin shattered against Sanders, but noone questioned wether or not he was exciting to watch.

I had no problem with pre 2003 Wlad, he went in the ring and knocked his oppenents out fast as he can. He blew an old, but strong chinned Mercer away in 6. Now he fights more effectively, but with less firepower. He now falls in love with the jab and forgets about the right, probably because his oppenents are so terrible they stand there and let Wlad pick them off.

Wlad dictated the fight with the Jab! This is what ATGs do, like Larry Holmes for example.

The Jab is the most effecitve punch. All starts with the Jab. Nothing wrong with this type of fighting. "Protect yourself all the time", Wlad today had a very good defensive and great footwork. Wlad becomes a more complete and fluid fighter with Emanuel Steward. Unfortunaly he could not work with Steward until his beginning of his career.

    Yes i believe it.

Wlad did the best. He try to proof it, he had medical terms who proof that he was drugged but not the person who did it. It is not so easy as it seems to be.

But Wlad did the best, he moves on. Today he is No. 1 Heavweight.:happy:happy:happy:happy:happy

Out of most people's top 10 ATG heavyweights many would likely have exceptional jabs, but that is not the problem, it is the manner in which it is used. Even Lennox and Holmes, who both worked behind the jab, also did other things and kept the more interested then is the case for Wlad's fights. I'm a big fan of Wlad, he seems like a great guy, but I cannot deny that I sometimes get a bit bored watching him - but I'm not going to rain hate down on him like some people do.

It depends what you value as a fan of the sport. Even the most technically aware fans still appreciate action, and Wlad's style does not lend itself to exciting fights. He merely gets the job done.

    Wlad is a professional guy.

He could take Chagaev out in the second round.

TV contracts (RTL), 61.000 people who watch the fight. Do you really believe, all the people would be happy if Wlad take Chagaev out in 2 rounds? He dominated him for 9 rounds and the people in the stadium where very happy to see these rounds.

Wlad shows great boxing skills and great domination of the No. 3 ranked Heavyweight in the world. This shows how great Champion Wladimir is.

    :good

Real boxing fans loves technical action.

Perhaps his opponents are that bad. Perhaps they are good/decent and he makes them look bad.

Perhaps it's a little bit of both.

Real boxing fans will love a technical boxing clinic put on over 12 rounds as much as an explosive 3 round slugfest with a huge KO.

People who think they are boxing fans, but who can't appreciate or stomach watching a technical fight, who complain that technical fighters are boring... these people are not boxing fans. They are violence fans, they are action fans. But they are not boxing fans.

A boxing fan will love watching a defensive genius. They will love watching a technical dismantling. They will appreciate Wlad and PBF as much as Pacman or Morales. Not just a grudging acceptance that Wlad and PBF are skilled - real boxing fans will love watching their fights!

These pseudo-fans may as well go watch monster trucks or pro wrestling.

Haye got the fight not due to his accomplishments which are very lacking.. it was his mouth and simpletons much like you who follow the hype...What is his best win an ancient Mckormec..? oh wait it was an ancient barrett... NO it was an ancient thompson.. wait he lost by TKO to that lightheavy... Mock yeah wrestle that SMW to the ground because you are on ***** street... That fighter who had no power at SMW was able to put haye in trouble.. no wonder he is so afraid to get in there and fight... :bbb

What it is - is if he tries to knock Valuev out - he's likely going to be stopped himself.

He has one way to win this - basically outwork Valuev round by round but ensure he still has gas in the tank - if he feels strong at the 8th or 9th round, maybe then try to spank him out.

If he tries to spank Valuev early - I can see it being Carl Thompson version 2 and the end of the hype.

Hopefully, the fight with Niko goes on now that he is the sole possessor of the WBA belt.

So. If Haye STOPS Valuev by TKO or even better KO will he have the doubters respect. Simple question.

well if he dosen't he never will, but hey it dosen't matter what some fighters achieve they will always find an angle to hate on them.
wlad is a great example yes he lost 3 times but since then he has beat everyone asked of him and unified some belts. Ok not in the most anestheticaly pleasing way but he got the job done.

I got to give him props for that, lewis was hated on for the same things as wlad i.e safety first approach on the odd occasion. Still apart from haye at the moment who else really stands a chance to shake up the division and beat him?

For the good of the division Haye needs to beat valuev or the division loses all intrest
