if pavlik will be able to beat williams i'll greatly respect him after hopkins fall, but i doubt he will
Well it seems that this fight has hit a huge snag....MONEY! What else is new. It's Arum and Goosen negotiating the fight but yet the promoters have been used as an excuse for not making the PW vs Clottey fight while PW says that no WW wants to fight him.
Goosen is being a first-class dunce once again. Williams is being offered $1.55m, Pavlik $1.75m. Now, if that isn't a fair offer, I'm a banana; but Goosen wants more.
Just like I said, this fight wont happen because of money. It was because of money last year and its because of money this year. Same old goose.
it's so unknown if P-Will can take a middleweight punch that maybe alot of them could beat him. I'm not sure he could take Lorenzo or Karmazin's power. And you don't know either:deal
The Hopkins fight is not even relevant. That fight told us one thing: if a 180 pound ATG catches Pavlik while he is sick and injured, the ATG will make Kelly look bad. That's what it tells us. Nothing more. Rubio was the WBC mandatory challenger who earned the right to his shot by winning a legit eliminator. If your position is that hard working top 10 fighters should NEVER get a shot, than you are an imbecile who should probably forget boxing and follow womens table tennis. HBO gave Kelly Pavlik a list of 4 pre-approved opponents. Pavlik trashed the list and said get me Williams. Do you ever read anything, or do you just scroll to the end of threads, and make assinine comments?
I agree with you a lot Bodysnatcher, but Williams is not a middleweight. He has no chance in this matchup. Good move by Pavlik's team if they get Williams.
It is a great fight, the best fight out there at middleweight. I would throuroughly look forward to it, the fight absolutely gurantees excitement. There will be a lot of punches thrown in there.
And after that people will clearly see that PWilly had no business being in there due to the weight. So why should Kelly fight a guy he will get no credit for beating again?
The same thing can be said about KP. He should let go of the 160 lb class and move up to 168, where he belongs. There's no one at 160 to fight who's worth a damn.
I think he has the ability now to put on a Hopkins kind of fight against Pavlik. He is a little experienced now and controlled. If he uses his height and studies what Hopkins did, he can duplicate that win.
The only assinine comments are that Pavlik was sick and injured-that was an excuse. Who was the old man in that fight? I admit Hopkins is the best old guy fighting below heavyweight probably in the history of boxing, but the fact he won should eliminate the excuse by Pavlik that he was sick and injured. Hopkins outboxed him and was one step ahead the whole fight. It is a blueprint for beating Pavlik which other fighters will duplicate. I never thought Hopkins beating Pavlik was that bad for Pavlik had he come right back to take on the best fighters and learn from that loss. But he made up an excuse early on (the night of the fight) and didn't want to improve. He had a chance to enter the tournament and he did not, which would shows he thinks he is above the elimination format. Pavlik trashing the list is fine, but will the Williams fight materialize? We will see. The proof is who he fights next rather than some rumor that he trashed the HBO list. I think Pavlik is a very good fighter, but a fighter who depends on getting other guys into brawls so he can utilize his power. When he meets guys who have discipline and can beat him to the punch for all 12 round he will lose. The blueprint to beat Kelly Pavlik was made by Hopkins.
