Says that Khan fights from long range, tucks up after throwing, fights to not get knocked out and if he gets hit on the chin, he gets knocked out. Said the Kotelnik fight is one of the most boring he's ever seen and that Khan's style of fighting is the most boring to watch. Agree or disagree?
Of the boring contributers to the Khan-Kotelnik fight.... In terms of boring percentages, Kotelnik contributed a lot more than Khan to that.
Here, here:good. Let's just remember that Khan is very much a work in progress at the moment. What does Froch want Khan to do, throw away the first half of fights and go for broke in the last two rounds:huh? Froch needs to calm the bad-mouthing down on other domestic fighters- it really turns the casuals off of him.
I think he did say it cos Frank Warren slagged him off for saying it the other day in the SUN ask Frank Warren himself if he happens to log on later - he goes under the name WORLDS GREATEST
Khan was extremely boring to watch against Kotelnik, but he was very effective, (although not as effective as one of the judges thought). The way he fought against Gairy St Claire was most un-entertaining, but showed us the only style that would realistically take Khan to any success. Despite being a known Khan "hater" (not my choice of word), I was really impressed with the way he boxed against Kotelnik. If he carries on like it, I'll be even more impressed.
froch is an arrogant elusional ****/******* whatever you want to call him. He thinks just because he beat pascal and got very lucky against Taylor that he can go around talkin **** about other people. Arrogant ****.
We've already made our bed with the criticism he (rightly) got for losing to Prescott. We can't expect him to fight in an exciting way and WIN. 'Exciting' means taking chances, and exposing yourself. That is a sure fire way for Khan to lose.
I can see where Froch is coming from but it is a tad unfair. The style of fighting Khan adopted is pretty boring against a non-aggressive opponent. However, when deployed (successfully) against a guy who is really coming forward and throwing punches I think it looks exquisite. For me, the best part of that fight was at the end of the 7th (could have been 8th or 9th) when Khan made Koltenik miss 5 times with body movement. That was exciting because it was very, very good. Carl Froch is just more obviously exciting. For Carl Froch boxing is about bravery, aggression and basically being well 'ard. (See constant references to the word "warrior"). For Khan it now has to be about skill, strategy and technique. Clearly boxers, as well as fans, have their favourite styles.
