Best 135 pound fighter ever. Top 15 ATG. Probably the hardest hitting fighter of all time under 147 lbs.
Top 10 p4p, no higher than 4, no lower than 7. I think he`d be the best p4p today & I dont really see any of todays top guys beating him TBH, Mayweather might cause some problems stylewise but Duran`s style would give Floyd more problems & Id be shocked if Mayweather won that one.
Best 135lber ever. Top 10 147 lber. No.2 in my post-war top 100 P4P lists behind only Sugar Ray Robinson, and the greatest offensive fighter that ever lived (remember, offence is not steaming in and getting hit back, which Duran sometimes did too, but calculated and EFFECTIVE PRESSURE;there has never been a better man at doing this than Duran) IN MY OPINION
Leonard didn't fight his usual style in the 2nd fight, he changed his style for that fight to get the job done, clowning about staying out of range, not really looking to attack. Leonard genuinly was a boxer puncher IMO who would stay in range a lot of the time and look to take his opponent out, i can't think of any other fight of his in his prime (not hagler) where he used close to the same amount of lateral movement as in duran 2
In my opinion Duran would have a field day with Mayweather. In order to beat Duran you not only need to be defensively adapt you need to have ideas other than throwing a pot shot. Duran's lead right is far more of a weapon than Floyd, and his ability to take away an opponents jab is amongst the best I have ever seen. Floyd always takes a few rounds to figure his opponent out, against Duran if he does that he is ****ed. And I rate Floyd's skills. Not in comparison with Duran IN MY OPINION
Top 10 ATG. The man was unbelievable in so many ways. He could have been a top 3 ATG, came so very close.
01 - Sam Langford 02 - Harry Greb 03 - Sugar Ray Robinson 04 - Henry Armstrong 05 - Ezzard Charles 06 - Muhammad Ali 07 - Roberto Duran
Holy **** man, they both hit hard, but the tall guy really means business, thats some brutal speed and power he has right there. Who is who on the names from the video? thanks. :thumbsup
Ike williams is the tall guy who wins, probably the person i give the best chance of taking duran at lightweight alongside whitaker, phenominal fighter, espicially at mid range when he lets his hands go
I agree with you - I think Duran takes Whitaker on the styles, but I think Williams v Duran is 50.50, and if you hold a gun to my head i'll pick Williams. Back Hand, the opponent is Beau Jack, also a great, great fighter.
His skipping impressed me so much I showed my 11 year old daughter, who skips during her training for tennis. I told her I doubt anyone she knows could skip like that, it was amazing to see.
