Haye says he wanted the fight postponed and would have fought Wlad a few weeks later. If Wlad agreed to wait - and skip Chagaev - how was Haye going to be paid?

This question is for those who say Haye backed out for fear of not being paid.

Could'nt have have demanded his pay check go straight to his pocket before Setanta got it?

Why would Haye agree to fight Wlad a month later - wouldn't he still fear not getting paid?

Something aint kosher here. Haye seems to be using smokescreens to hide the truth.

Thank you. I rest my case.

Davey haye was totally and completely beaten psychologically by WLadimir without having to throw a single punch. Another awesome yet under appreciated VICTORY by WLadimir Klitschko.

I would not be suprised at all if Davey was making backdoor deals while he was signed to fight Wlad. Make sense to me givin the fact that 1 week after Chagaev and Valuev gets cancelled, Haye backs out..

    Makes you think :think:think

because when Haye 1st said he needed 3 weeks, team Klitschko said. "We might wait" 7 hours later we were told by booth... "Um sorry its not 3 weeks its 8-10 weeks":think

I tend to believe that he was hurt. Sometimes the simplest answer is the best one.

And also, remember the intense pressure Haye was getting to just sign the contract already in Feb/March, remember how long he stalled - despite saying everything was agreed upon?

he probably signed with the backdoor plan already made to back out with the injury. Becuase if he would have not signed, he would have looked like a coward. But if he signs and fakes an injury, he saves face.

Becuase it very much did seem Haye signed the first contract with reluctance, as if forced into it. He was getting a LOT of criticism in the media, and also on ESB :)

Actually the worst are the Haye fans calling Wlad the "*****" or "Wlad ducked Haye" when it is becoming increasingly clear, Haye did not want this fight. Name the reason there seems to be more everyday. non payment, scared, or slave contract, wanting to fight Valuev. Haye is a joke:yep

I don't want to come across as pedantic, Chef, but Booth said '3 weeks before Haye can resume training' not 'three weeks before he can step into the ring'. I think the confusion was mostly down to the British press.

He wasn't exactly boxing though. You know very well there is a difference between "able to walk around hurt"; and "able to box hurt"

You guys may very well be correct and there were ulterior reasons, but it's just speculation... I see no reason not to take his word for it. It seems the most plausible expalntion.

Not true at all. I've never called WALDO a ***** for pulling the plug and by the same token I've not called Haye a ***** for getting injured or whatever the **** happened.

What seems to be the general opinion is that the Klits offer **** contracts with ***** terms involved....you defend them all you like but those rematch options are bollocks. Haye signed a Don King contract yet refused a Klitschko contract, says it all to me. Of course you can speculate that Haye is scared of VITLAY but I don't buy that.

Right he was hurt against Wlad and then point out the contract woes to justify why he is not fighting Vitali.

    Very convenient.

And what was Schaefer saying yesterday?:deal

The confusion was down to the WALDO huggers looking to defend their man for backing out and picking on an ill fighter. That's fair enough, I don't blame WALDO financially for taking the pathetic Chagaev instead but I ain't jumping up and down bigging up the victory either like these clowns do.

Haye was not a joke 9 months ago though. He was exciting and riled up the sport. But after trying to match wits and brainpower with the king of all kings Wladimir Klitschko, yes now haye has been transformed into a F****** double talking joke. Good fighter, nice colorful personality but is just a masquerading misfit clown court jest to the King of Kings.

All credit goes to Wladimir Klitschko for showing Haye for what he is. It took a lot of alpha male skills and power and confidence to break Haye down psycologically.
