Oscar de la Hoya was frightened to death.

He chickened out and fought Shane Mosley instead.

Good, exciting fighter at domestic level. Too many flaws for real world class.

I saw him lose to an absolutely pony fighter on the undercard of Sprott-Williams III...the snippet in the programme defined him as a future great etc. and he got outboxed over 4 or 6 rounds by some no-mark Portuguese bloke I think.

Eugene montinero was a good fighter who also beat farnell, farnell was unfortunate and got caught cold by tak- he was much the better fighter. Takaloo was strictly domestic level but his wins over magee, farnell and dixon weren't bad form at all. The light middle division was a wealth of talent and nearly all of them were beaten in stupid marking time bouts when they could have been making legacys for themselves

Takaloo was an exciting domestic level fighter who I enjoyed watching back in the day. He was out of his depth against Santos but showed real balls to go the distance.

Tak seemed a very physically strong fighter - and its no surprise he was super conditioned from having a trainer like fitness fantatic Jim Mcdonell

He was a solid fighter - I think above British level

Like Dan B pointed out - he went the distance for the WBO title against Santos - he was a fringe world level fighter

I have to disagree with Jeff Thomas I think Takloo was a much better fighter than Anthony Farnell

For me Farnell was a limited fighter and overrated fighter

Tak done a job on him qucik style - exposing his bad flaws

Tak then suffered a devesating KO himself - when Wayne Alexander nearly decapated his head

Wayne Alexander had freakish power though

Yeah, it was a feature back in the good old days of 'Ringside'. To be fair, he obviously wasn't taking it too seriously but it was still funny watching him hand out De La Hoya fliers to old pensioners in Margate and trying to drum up interest.

Those flaws were highlighted when he was completely outclassed by Santos. Can you believe that was actually a unification bout aswell? Im pretty sure Santos threw that WBU trash straight in the bin.
