First and foremost, Diego Sanchez (who is a Mexican-American) is a big big ratings getter (he's had as many as 3 million viewers during his fights)...and I doubt it's all white people tuning so obviously the UFC has some Mexican fans. They've also been talking about launching into Mexico so obviously there's some interest there.

I doubt they run Fedor-Lesnar against JMM-PBF and split the market...although IF they do, JMM-Floyd really doesn't have much of a chance.

That's extremely ignorant to say the least. Somebody pointed out that in a report, almost half of the UFC fanbase is young adults who were turned away form boxing and wound up as UFC fans.

The UFC has essentially cut into the lifeblood of the sport...and boxing now relies on older fans to keep the sport going. They've lost touch with the youth of the country and those fans are going into other areas aka the UFC and pro wrestling.

So yes, it does effect boxings fanbase. You're just shooting **** out in hopes of something sticking..and it's not.

i get the distinct feeling that you have no idea what you're talking about

young adults in this country don't "turn away from boxing" and move to ufc

they were never boxing fans to begin with

but that's not the point of this thread

i'm saying there's enough of a boxing fan base incl casual ones to make up the #s for the fight NO MATTER HOW WELL THE UFC DOES

there's 100 million households in this country, did it possibly cross your mind that different people like different ****

if all this is true why does HBO and showtime still have boxing, HBO would just take MMA over they have more money than white has ever seen, they have well over 100 million for boxing a year and that is mainly for the non PPV fights.

MMA is better ATM because they know that 80% of MMA fights end up in blood or nasty KO's or submission.

Unlike in boxing, nobody would wants to watch a 12 rounds of 3mins each boxers pitty patting, running and clinching each other 75% of the time. Or just a 1 round KO and the bout is done. And only around 3-5 bouts. Which makes people think twice spending a PPV or ticket on it. Because they don't feel paying a snoozer boxing match a worthy of their hard earned cash in this economy.

It's a thing hard to accept by us boxing fans. But it's the reality atm.

Because HBO only have boxing for their sport presentation.

UFC isnt **** outside of America.

Whereas boxing has ****in' hit HUGE numbers around the world. God forbid a ****in' idolized boxer from a different country wins a big matchup...its like their country takes a day-long vacation and starts a huge parade in honor of his victory...do you see that **** for MMA fighters?:rofl

    **** no!:nono

so as a good friend of mine always says...

    **** UFC! :good

Are you ****ing kidding me?!

Ive seen more 1 punch KO's in 30 to 45 secs in the opening round and 30 mins of man humping than the **** your talking about boxing.

People have turned to UFC cuz they feel its manlier to wear 4 oz gloves and use their elbows and wear edgy shirts like affliction and come out to the latest Trivium hit single because its all ****in' "hardcore man!"...ITS SOOOO EXTREME!

not all will watch MMA/boxing...and those who watch, not all will buy PPV, a lot watch them for free in bars or some friends house...and a lot of those who buy PPV fights are both fans of boxing and MMA...

Im a huge boxing fan, heck, i only know about 5-10% UFC(not general MMA)fighters...But Im not blind that these would affect the PBF-JMM sales, which is already ****ed up..

I don't quite understand. Didn't they announce that 24/7 was already filming the day of the press conf (day before Pac-Hatton)?

The fight was postposned to Sep 19. The show has 4 episodes spanning 3 weeks, which means the series should not premier till late August at the least.

Don't see why HBO would pass up on a 24/7 to be honest. If reports of poor ticket sales are true then all the more reason for HBO to push for a 24/7, ESPECIALLY considering that both 24/7's involving Floyd did fantastically well selling the fights (and were best of the series, by far).

Their cheapest tickets price is $150. That really sucks cause I wanted to go see it as we are planning a family trip to Vegas soon but we cant afford $450 (3 ppl) just to see a boxing fight.

Theyre big stars sure but this isnt a megafight. THey should offer some tickets in the $50-100 range and they would sell a lot more.

Donaire fight is coming up soon and that has $50 tickets so maybe we will see that if we leave that soon.

What the hell are you talking about UFC & MMA (do you know what mma stands for and do you know the difference :patsch:patsch) is by far and away the biggest sport in Europe , by far and away , you now have MMA facilities outweighing AMA Boxing clubs by 3 - 1 in the UK , even for you thats not hard to work out , mma is evolving at 10 times the speed boxing did in terms of skill & technique simple as that .

MMA is more exciting than boxing period , im a massive boxing fan and have been for the last 10 years and i was once an mma hater but dig into mma a little is my advice to you and if you box then try a little mma to get a taster of what its about .

When talking about fighters being put on pederstals for boxing not mma , i have two things to say :

Go and ask a Russian who Fedor Emilianenko is .
Then go and ask some one from Hawaii who BJ Penn is .

You are an un educated hater you know nothing about what you preech to hate , so get some education and then lets argue .
