Besides... they wont have Lesnar vs Fedor that soon anyways, Fedor will have his debut fight first, then they will market the **** out of Lesnar vs Fedor.... buisness wise it wouldnt be good to have it so soon.

The markets aren't mutually exclusive, especially when it comes to casual fans.

    Bingo.

Both sports have their hardcore exclusive fans...but the all important big buy aka the casualites are still up for grabs.

It's not wrong but that's not what's being debated at this point.

What's being debated is the idea that the two markets don't compete for the same fanbase. That's what's being debated right now.

Technically Showtime is in a good spot. Strikeforce does very well for them ratings and endorsement wise and if they get the super six going and it turns out well, they can milk both fan bases.

they do though.... each fan base has a maximum of probably (depending on who's fighting) between 250k - 500k ... the rest of the people ordering are casuals who just saw the advertising and were interested

if you had these 2 events on the same day it would force anywhere from 200-600k people to choose between 2 different events and basically the majority would choose what ever had the best advertising which will obviously be the boxing match.... the rest will pick the mma fight... but either way it will be stupid because both will get hurt because of this

Chances are the majority would go with the names they recognized. Whether we'd like to admit it or not, Kimbo Slice (of all people) would probably outsell the top MMA fighter and the top boxer put together.

They are mostly two different fan bases unless it's a mega event, the Floyd/Marquez fight is going to do some big numbers and the UFC wants to change up the main event because the one originally planned was horrible.

MMA = Cheap beer - You know what you're paying for and it gets you drunk.

Boxing = Fine Wine - It's an acquired taste and if you didn't like it the first time you think it sucks. Especially if you're young White and love cheap beer.

Nothing like an elitist attitude to help entice new fans to join your sport in desperate need of new fans.

    yeah thas probably true....

but when them 24/7's start popping out its game over... honestly the last time 24/7 was on including floyd it was like a house hold event... atleast amonst my group of friends...

everyone woudl be like yo its 10 o clock... i gotta be home to see 24/7 .... floyd acts so foolish he makes you want to tune in..

ufc cant compete with that because they show their **** on spike.. nobody gives a **** about spike tv
