Can someone please explain exactly why did the older Klit chicken out of a rematch with Chris Byrd? Isn't it a bit hypocritical to demand a rematch with Lennox Lewis all the while denying the first man to BEAT you the same courtesy? When one of the resident Klitschko nut-huggers is finished with lapping up the Klitschko nut, please address this inconsistency. Thank you.
lol. I have no idea why he never rematched Byrd to be honest. Waste of his time maybe? Definetly has nothing to do with being chicken****, I'll tell you that much... I would have made sure to beat him though as that was his only other defeat... Regardless, I think we all know what would have happened if such an event were to have taken place, don't we?
the reason a unification match between byrd and Vitali never happened was because Don King knew Byrd stood zero chance to win and refused to make the fight. King also knew ruiz had zero chance to beat Vitali and this is why Vitali was not able to unify his WBC title with the WBA and IBF. King actually held the titles, byrd and ruiz were basically used as employees wearing the belts.
It was prime Byrd, and yes he gave Klitschko some problems. But these problems were mainly caused by letting the bigger man miss and look awful. And when Klitschko got injured Byrd also had good success when he was offensive. Imho Byrd would not have stand a chance in a rematch. I think he underestimated the small Byrd and was surprised how he could avoid serious punishment.
Damn, you're a one trick pony. Amazing how you take the time outta your busy day to go to a Boxing Site, not to praise fighters but to bash them. This content is protected This content is protected
That "injury" happened to be a torn rotator cuff which was confirmed by the surgery necessary to repair it. It wasn't a fake injury like David Haye's hand/back/ballz injury mind you.................but a REAL painful, possibly career-ending injury.
That is true. Vitali injured the shoulder in the second round I believe and it was from missing punches swince Byrd was so elusive. Byrd's win is 100% legit too, but let's not make like Byrd was wailing on VK and Vitali was ready to go, knocked down or bloody faced.
Viatli did not feel as though Byrd "beat him". He had to withdraw because of an injury; also, they did that old 'revenge of the brother' thing. It's dumb, but it's probably a good selling point. Against Lewis, Vitali lost not by his own doing, but by the damage caused by Lewis. Vitali probably felt more of a desire to prove himself because of this.
When you're done lapping up the Klitschko nut, please find the time to answer the question @ the top of this thread. Thank you.
Well, thats just my opinion, but there must have been already a problem with his shoulder from the start. You dont get yourself a torn rotator cuff from a few missed punches in one(!) round. I dont buy that. Also the injury didnt seem to be a problem first, afaik Vitali was complaining after a few rounds about the pain and he also used his injured arm after the 2nd for additionally rounds.
