Guys can anybody who is in the know tell me why Diaz has made the jump to 140 . And does he plan on staying there .

The bigger fights are at 135 for certain , he looked big and strong in his last 3 outings at LW and i would put him top of a very talent rich pile @135 . He didnt seem to have any weight cutting issues that i saw .

Here in the UK we do not hear any behind the scenes murmerings about such fighters in America and i was just wondering what the reasons were for .

    Many thanks .

well he might move up all the way. the man at 135 is Marquez, so unless Marquez goes to 140 then Diaz cant beat the champ so why stay there?? why do you think jermian moved up?? its not because he cant make 160 its because he cant beat the man at 160.

I don't see why Juan Diaz doesn't try to go after Casa.

there's a lot of other opportunities there bro...i can see him sticking around 135 for a little while longer...remember, he's only 26 so moving up now would probably have him at welter by the time he's 29-30, bad move IMO.....

I have no clue why there is a catchweight for this fight. Its not like the combination of his chin and Paulie's punching power is a devastating combo at 140.

I don't think that you will see marquez at 135 again. He is fighting Floyd at 147 and after that fighting at 135 would be a step down. He'll probably land at 140.

    Valero
    Guzman
    Casamayor
    Reyes
    Katsidis
    Funeka
Marquez 2 (after the Floyd fight as Marquez is clearly not hanging around at that weight)

    Or

    Bradley
    Witter
    Khan
    Kotelnik
    Campbell 2
    Urango
    Maidana

If its big fights Diaz wants then sureley more options lie @135 ??????

:good he just might. and that would be a great fight! maybe he wants to start moving up to rematch Campbell, Marquez, or get to where Pac is at to start his campaign for a shot. I didn't know it was going to be a catch weight fight ( thanks Freddy). I thought it was a solid 140 bout.
    Regardless he should beat Pauli.

Juan should be getting 135 pack in check so that when JMM is done, he would be first in line to me the man at 135 again.
