Always thought that Marquez would've spanked him. Think of Morales - Zahir Raheem... now add offense and that's what you'd get here from JMM.

Marquez wins with superb counter punching in a 12 decision

    You cant think Morales Raheem!

That fight took place when Morales was way past his bed time

Morales was one of the greatest wee men we've ever seen

Raheem was little more than a turd surviving a flush.

Nevertheless, i agree - Marquez was just too skillful for Morales

Great movement (ala Morales-Raheem) combined with JMM's offense is exactly what you'd get here. It wouldn't be quite as one-sided with a prime Erik Morales, but JMM's quick feet and flashy in-and-out combinations would trouble him all night. Wiiiide UD for JMM and I don't see it another other way. :bart Marquez would be a stylistic nightmare for him.

`Too skillfull for Morales` are words that should never be used when speaking of any fighter within Morales weight range in the past 15 yrs.

It would be a close fight either way, absolutely no doubt at all in my mind saying that.

Morales and Barrera didn't have the balls to face JMM in their primes, and that is my honest opinion.

Morales lost to Barrera who outboxed him every time they fought. JMM would've done the same.

True... a JMM fight back then for either would've been a big risk, low reward fight.

Morales feet were far better & quicker than Marquez, he hit harder, had a better jab, took a shot better, was more comfortable infighting & had the height & reach advantages in distance boxing, both guys were great but Morales had more tools.
I get a feeling we might have to agree to disagree tho.
