Heavyweight titleholder Vitali Klitschko isn't just sitting around lamenting the fact that David Haye ran from a Sept. 12 fight they had agreed upon. Instead, I'm told by some of the folks involved in the fight that Klitschko is close to a deal to meet Chris Arreola in an HBO fight Sept. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the same arena where Klitschko had his classic slugfest with Lennox Lewis and later stopped Corrie Sanders to win a vacant title. I think Klitschko-Arreola is a far more interesting fight than Klitschko-Haye, because I think Arreola has a better chance of winning. I also think the bout could draw a huge crowd given that Arreola is a Mexican-American from Southern California and would be bidding to become the first fighter of Mexican heritage to win a heavyweight title.

    Thoughts?

Also, HBO is not interested in Valuev vs Haye. So much for Haye being a draw.

I hope Arreola gets into decent shape and gives some good opposition. I mean Vitali has to slow down at some point right?

I like the fight in that it could generate some interest... I don't like the fight in that Aereolla hasn't fought anyone in the top 15 and would get a title shot. Even in this age of multiple belts, that's sorry (I guess if Khan can get away with it, why not?).

I disagree that he has a better shot than Haye. Haye at least has the potential to be elusive; Aereolla has the potential to get hit alot.

Vitali KO 2. This fight will mimick The Kirk Johnson fight if Arreola doesn't come in superb shape.

Does anyone have visions that this will be similar to Peter-Vitali?

I think Haye would have been more interesting because most fans outside of England want to see him get KTFO. Arreola is a likeable and marketable contender. I just think he's being rushed to the top too fast. I hope it happens. Let's get ready to rumble in LA (I'll be there too) I like both fighters but would bet Vitali by 4th rnd KO or earlier similar to how he beat down Kirk Johnson.

True but he does have connections and is so far up Goosen and Finkel's ass you would need a tractor to pull him out. He might just be right here.......

That is a fight I would like to see and I favor Arreola the underdog in this one !!!!!

I think he will actually stop drinking the case of Coronas each day and approach this fight in a serious manner !!!!
