Biggest choke in a fight?

how was that a choke?

the guy fought for every round trying his damnedest to win and got up after that KD.

as far as im concerned the guy delivered in that fight, career ramifications be damned.

 

he had BALLS, philly sized balls to be sure. but he shouldn't have fought that last round like he needed a knockout. just poor strategy and poor advice from his corner

and hells yeah he got up, but the stoppage is a discussion for another day

 

Yeah. Me being a JT fan, the end of the Froch fight was just sad to watch.

I hope he at least gets a win in the SMW tournament.

Wanted to highlight this one... as far as freezing up goes, this deserves top mention.

Conn/Louis hasn't been mentioned yet... perhaps the single greatest legacy-saving chokes of all time (arguably just stupidity. but I'll call it letting the moment get to you).

I would have to say Jermain Taylor vs Pavlik 1. He had the fight won untill he punched himself out trying to knock pavlik out in the 5th. (then ended up getting knocked tfo).

Jermain Taylor vs Froch. He had the fight won until he got knocked out in the 12th round. Ohhhh so close but no cigar.

Guys there is a difference between gassing out and choking in a fight, BIG DIfference.

No there isnt a big difference in gassing out and choking up. Lets think about it. If you have a brawler coming at you full speed and your state of mind (or your mental how ever you want to say it) or your body (meaning conditioning) isnt ready. In order to keep that person off of you. What will your first thought process be. To keep shooting jabs and punches at this person to keep them at bay. In doing so you are in shock causing yourself to choke. And before you know it you're eating the canvass or sucking up a LOSS. Either way it goes. You choked the f*^& up.:nono

Choking up has to do with your nerves your mental state gassing out has to do with your conditioning big ****ing difference.....

that seems to be the common theme on this thread. a guy losing a fight he should win doesn't count. nor does JUST losing a fight you were winning. herol graham vs jackson hasn't been mentioned because, even though graham was winning handily, he didn't **** up he got caught. more of the posts here refer to people whose concentration fell, who got sloppy, who got cocky, etc. it's like you said: nerves. they were stupid for the most part
