    simple question... vote and discuss.

Juan Carlos Gomez won 1 round imo, Peter won zero. I would be slightly surprised to see Arreola win one but early in the fight its definately a possibility.

Arreola's punches are way too wide.

Arreola has the potential to make a couple of rounds competitive. For Arreola to have even the slightest chance to take the entire bout though Vitali would have to age like crazy from the Gomez fight. Vitali is 38 and not in his prime anymore, but it should be enough for a guy like Arreola.

I'd rate Gomez way stronger and much more experienced than Arreola as a fighter at this point in time and he won 2-3 rounds at best against Vitali without ever wobbling him.

The danger for Arreola is that a fight like Vitali takes away his pride and the fire inside of him. Vitali has destroyed a couple of guys that never were the same going forward. Chris has potential and this fight might be too much too soon for him.

If Arreola's fat and out of shape, I'd say no. But if he comes into the fight in decent shape, he might win 1 or a couple. Who knows maybe he'll surprise us.

If Arreola can come in in shape to fight 12 hard rounds, I'd give him a pretty solid shot to win, as I outlined in another thread. Arreola, if in proper 12-round shape, can put good pressure on a fighter and throw a lot of punches, especially given that he does proabably the best bodywork of any HW out there (that I can think of ATM, anyways) and that he has youth on his side and VK has age and repeated injuries creeping up on him.
I think if Arreola is going at +180 or so he is worth a few bucks, and if the over is 10 or 10.5 it is worth paying a few dollars on (25-50) if it pays at least +135, which it should...

Vitai will land some huge punches on Arreola. I don't think Arreola can take those punches for 12 hard rounds, but Vitali can go 12 rounds if he needs to. I have never seen Vitali run out of gas period.

The guys never fought or took punishment pass the 8th round in his 27 pro fights-in shape or not. It's not something that can be thought or be fixed through condition. I think it will be helluva fight-cause Chris comes to fight-but if he can be hurt or dropped by McCline or Walker, respectively, I see no reason why the results won't be worse in this case.

this whole fight depends on Arreola's gameplan. We all know what Vitali brings to the table.

I think this is going to be a very exciting fight no matter what happens.

I have the Walker fight on DVR. Arreola will have to improve a lot, including improving since the McCline fight.

Totally fair and, frankly, I think Arreola can certainly get whupped; but what I'm getting at is that Vitali is beatable at this point in his career, and a high volume pressure fighter is probably the type of fighter who gives him the most fits at this point. Like I said before, prime for prime, what we've seen from both these guys, VK takes it all day, but a busy, heavy-handed fighter like Arreola could certainly give him troubles, is a value bet if the odds are right, and frankly, I'd be amazed if he won fewer rounds than GOmez did.

Put simply: If Arreola fights his best fight and VK fights worse than he did last time, Arreola takes this, and fairly easily; 117-110ish.

Maybe one or two, but I anticipate that VITLAI gets into a groove after that point and disposes of him before 9

    Let's see:

    1. Staples center? Check.
    2. WBC champ, aged 38? Check.
    3. Title holder looking for a replacement opponent on short notice because original opponent pulled out? Check.
    4. Everybody thinking the fight will be very one-sided? Check.

Anybody eerily reminded of Lewis - Vitali by the way Vitali - Arreola came about? If we see only 2 rounds worth of that type of quality action I'll be more than happy.

If Vitali is still 90% of what he brought against Gomez he wins a TKO within 7.

    What an intrigue!
Seriously only one question what interests me is does Areolla have enough heart and chin to stay on his feet before doctor/referee/corner stops the fight?

Valid and good points-and must of us can agree this will be an interesting or a good fight-and maybe the best fight that can be made in the HW division besides Haye vs Wlad or Vitali.
